Are you really dieting, if you're not hungry before bed?

Going to bed hungry after eating only egg whites, chicken and rice throughout the day is a very accomplished, but shitty feeling.

That’s a huge part of dieting in my experience, dealing with hunger.

I can’t go to bed hungry. I can deal with hunger throughout the day, but I can’t sleep hungry

Sounds awful. I just eat regular food in smaller portions and on schedule to avoid the bouts of deep hunger.

But you do you.

Eat 50% of your daily calories at night if you want. It doesn’t matter when you eat your food, what matters is daily goal. Protein too.

I can't go to bed hungry. I try to eat about 1200 calories throughout the day so that I can eat a decent dinner.

I know HRV measured on a watch is not the best, but my overnight HRV consistently says otherwise. Doesn’t stop me, just sharing my experience.

An empty stomach before bed does not mean you’re going to bed hungry. People think just because their stomach is rumbling oh I must be hungry! It’s just gas movement. If you consumed anywhere within normal maintenance for caloric intake that day, you’re absolutely fine going to bed on an empty stomach, especially when dieting.

I have found the magic spot is never ever feeling hungry, but also never ever feeling full

Keeps me almost exactly on point at 18% bf

Which is a very happy medium for me

That's not what I would term as a 'diet' ,not a proper diet anyway.
Feeling hungry all the time is the biggest reason folks fail at dieting.
We all heard the phrase of yo-yo dieting, lose weight only to gain it all back within a few months or weeks.
Then repeat, lather and rinse.

A proper diet is a lifestyle rather than just a fad.

A proper diet consists of the big three:

Carbs
Fats
Proteins

Of course, we also need the trace nutrients and micro-nutrients too.

I tell folks this all the time when it comes to proper nutrition.

There are good carbs and bad carbs
There are good fats and bad fats.
There are good proteins and bad proteins.

Get on something like the South Beach Diet or Dr. Mark Hymans regime.
There are other good diet plans.

I was in Books-A-Million recently and there was tons of 'diet' books on their shelf's.
Most good diets are basically the same, with slight variations here and there. They are worded differently but still the same.

From my wrestling days, the immediate/painful hunger goes away after a week. After that it’s just a constant want for a little snack here, a little snack there. It’s sucks dick but if you take it one day at a time you can definitely make it.

Recently started dieting eating lower carbs and higher fat. Only a week in but I’m never hungry. I wanted to lose 15-20lbs and already dropped 7lbs. I know mostly water weight but feeling better already

Eat a pinch of salt when you get hungry at night. Or a pickle.
