I checked over on the Health board and almost posted this there, but I want the experience of normal people, not paleo crossfitters.

Reading up on it and sounds like it could be beneficial. Basically it's three minutes of -230 degrees F temperature in an tube- aka freezing ones arse off.
Supposedly good for circulation, reducing inflammation and cortisol levels.

never tried but always wanted to. Nobody in New Orleans open to the public does it, or no one did it a year or two ago when I checked.

Yes, I've done it a bunch at the place in Baton Rouge. Went because of some shoulder pain from lifting. Absolutely loved it and it made a noticeable difference in my shoulder. There are a couple of different levels you can do, but they don't start you off at the coldest. You still freeze your arse off at level 1, but there is a big difference between that and level 2.

Hmmm....I think I would rather stay here...sitting naked in my bean bag eating Cheetos.

You should probably check again - these places are popping up all over the place in cities smaller than NOLA.

Yes and I also found it to be helpful, though honestly, I’m unsure how much of that is placebo.

I don't think we have it down here. It's a bit expensive for what it is. For $60 more you could just get a good deep tissue massage.

Husband gave me a gift certificates or my birthday for both us to go for a session. Can’t wait to try it out.

I’ve done it, if I had one closer to me I’d do it more as well. I’m a fan

It's one of my favorite things to do right now. I feel so fresh and relaxed afterwards. They have some other types of therapies that are fun as well.

It works, great for recovery. Expensive AF though...each session uses about $3 worth of nitrogen but places are charging $60+

I went today and LOVED it. They recommended I start at -170. I asked if -210 would kill me, they said no, so I did it. Goal is to work up to -270. The three minutes in the chamber were not fun, and I was about to tell them to let me out when my time was up. Afterwards, I felt awesome - tons of energy, refreshed. I retain a lot of fluid in the summer, my wedding rings are painfully tight. I lost a ton of fluid, to the point where my rings were loose.

I signed up for a membership, I think it was $70/month and then I pay $30 for each session. I'll do it for a month and see if there are long term benefits.

ETA they recommend at least 3x per week.

Well, I already do an infrared light workout. Supposedly, alternating infared light and the cryotherapy will help slow the aging process on my 50 YO arse.
The cryotherapy place has a membership where you pay 270$ and everything they do is included in that price unlimited. You sign up for a 4 month stint. If this month goes well, I'll sign up for that.

No shark tank. I heard about this from eavesdropping on a random conversation between some ballet dancers. The one recommending the infrared and cryotherapy was 55 and still dancing. He looked crazy fit - his body was amazing. Most 30 YOs don't look that good. So, I started researching.

Cryotherapy wont make your body look any different so you will still have to bust your arse to get it. It will help with recovery

Jesus Christ, is it so cold you just go numb immediately?

I don’t even like cold pools so that just seems crazy to me
