Took a Mexican vacation about a month ago. Second day back had fever, diarrhea, cramps, nausea. Fever broke after a few days but diarrhea stayed around. Got a Dr appointment and they said it was probably stomach flu “travelers flu” and put me on a 10 day antibiotics. I’m 5 days off the meds and still have diarrhea and feel weird. Does this sound like I may have picked up a parasite?

What’s the treatment if so?

You need to go back to the doctor.

Did they test your stool? That is generally done when parasites are suspected.

No. Just a 10 day antibiotics. When I go back I’m asking to have the parasite stool sample test.

Wouldn’t the antibiotics have killed the parasite?

It's not a de-wormer.

brian alsruhe had a pretty insane parasite/infection of some sort and he had to have some major shite done and has been rebounding ever since.

He saw many DRs and specialists and it took them a while to diagnose it. He was throwing up like 10+ times a day for a long while.

Op, it definitely could be based on your symptoms. I wouldn't sit around waiting for things to clear up if they haven't by now.. But then again, could just be some kind of digestive issue..

Amoebic dysentery. Twice. Shat through a key hole for 6-8 weeks on each occasion.
