Day 23 done ya nerds
Posted on 4/23/19 at 10:19 am to GeorgeTheGreek
It seems we are losing momentum posting here...how's it going? How many are still doing this challenge and even if you quit...let us know why?
Also - if you are thinking about doing this challenge...it's best to start doing 100-200 a day a week before you start so you can get used to all of the pushups required.
Day 23 in progress - 210 in the books - 9,585 and counting.

I lurk this board regularly and have been following this thread since it started and doing the pushups along with everyone. Was 7225 pushups for the month going into today. 330 so far today with another 120+ coming later this evening. Would be further along but went on a vaca from 04/10-04/14 and only did about 100 pushups per day on those days. Averaging just under 400 per day outside of those dates.
I've found it to be pretty easy, honestly. No pain or anything like some posters are mentioning. No reason why I cant keep this up and make it part of a daily routine for a little bit longer. In May I will attempt it again but this time aim for 1000 pullups and/or chinups along with the 10K pushups. And also currently doing 45 minutes of cardio 4-5 days per week... Will keep that up too.

Im still here. Averaging around 350 per day. Did 420 yesterday for a max in a single day.

I also did this a few years ago when the challenge was posted here. I was 52 years old at the time and got to 6,000-7,000 for the month. I looked and felt totally different by the end of the month - probably the best shape in my life.
For those of us over 50, a firm goal of 5,000 or 6,000 would probably be doable, and would make a huge difference.

i'm out, have been for a week or so. tendonitis in shoulder has started bothering me. i think this is a good thing to add to a lifting/cardio routine in general though. i think next time i may actually be better off getting enough in to rest every third or fourth day, maybe. anyway i'll try it again with a different strategy in june

I'm still going.
Average around 480 a day.

Yep, just crossed 5,000 for the month today.

Day 29 complete ya nerds. 2 more days left ... though I’ve probably actually eclipsed 10,000 already.
Knocked out 12 100 meter uphill sprints today. Legs are like jello after what I did last week.

Just finished.
Some results are visible, and I'm definitely a bit sore. I'll probably keep doing more pushups than I used to, but not 350 a day. I was annoyed by the need to constantly do a few sets of pushups all day.

I had jury duty for 2 days last week and that set me back (only managed 90 on tuesday), but i managed to do 1000+ between saturday and sunday. Currently at 9495 as of sunday night with 2 days to go. Around 250 today and tomorrow gets me to the finish line.

OK - whether I do a few more today...but just finished and I'm taking tomorrow off.
For reference. 49 years old, 6'3 - 184-187lbs.
12,525 pushups
12,610 situps
1,027 pullups
100.11 miles
I'll definitely incorporate more pushups in my weekly/daily routine from now on. I'll probably do the challenge again but think in May I'm going to hit the gym more.
Takeaways - holy shite - you can stay/get in damn good shape just doing what I did over the course of a few months. My shoulders and chest did get bigger and my biceps stayed tight (I think it was more to the pushups than the pull ups). It was a grind (especially the running) but definitely worth it for the month. I needed this challenge as just 'going to the gym' wasn't enough for me.
