Isn't this tournament considered one of the worst stops on tour? I'm surprised they always get bigger names outside of sponsorship obligations

Are these official?
I guess BK is Brooks Koepka? I wonder if he is pairing with his brother again.
The Zurich Classic got a big shot in the arm with the team concept. I think the players really like that. The course is also in premo shape after being closed for 6 months last year for upgrades.
Zurich does bring in a some big names because of their sponsorship. So I guess we will see Collin Morikawa, Justin Rose and Billy Horschel again this year.

I don't think they usually do...

Far from it, they like the food and bars and since it's during Jazz fest their wives love to come down and party.

I have volunteered at the Zurich Classic for 6 years now.
I have pretty much seen all the big names except for Rory, Phil and Tiger.
I have seen Dustin Johnson, Jordan Speith, Brooks Koepka, Tommy Fleetwood, Bryson Dechambeau, Ricky Fowler, Henrik Stenson, Sergio Garcia, Bubba Watson, Patrick Reed...

After going to the WMO I have a new found love for the Zurich. I can’t remember the exact year but I was able to follow duff and rose with only about 4 other people. Not a lot of tourneys allow you to watch names like that with such a small gallery

I can't go this year because I'm in a wedding that weekend, but the Zurich is awesome.

Volunteering at the Zurich is a blast. The days can be long, but you get to be right up close with the players.
I have worked Shotlink on the #1 green the past two years.
You get to stand with the players/caddies next to the green and listen in to the conversations.

They'd get more big names if it was at better course. Apparently a lot of pros do not like TPC

It's been a while since I've done it, but I used to volunteer as a Shotlink walking scorer. That was a lot of fun to be able to walk 18 holes with a group. Even better was to be able to do it during the Wednesday pro am. The pros are really talkative then. Plus you get to eat all the good food they serve, unlike the poor schmucks outside the ropes.

Worst courses on tour voted by players
Granted, this article is from a 2017 poll taken and TPC has done some renovations since then.

2. TPC Louisiana – 12%

The second-most hated course on the PGA Tour schedule is the TPC Louisiana located on the outskirts of New Orleans. The course features a whopping 103 bunkers, multiple mounds, and tough greens. Golf pros widely consider the site of the Zurich Classic to be one of the most unforgiving courses on the PGA Tour schedule due to the aforementioned bunkers.

Just like the rest of us, they wanted to be rewarded for good shots and understood being punished for bad ones.
Seems a bit unfair to hit a good shot and not gain an advantage.

The course is bad for tour players. They hate it. They come for a family vacation and Brooks comes to get his brother a pga start.

Wish he wouldn’t. Chase is pretty tough to watch lol

I think they like Nola but it’s a shitty course as far as PGA courses go. I think the lid back team format has gotten some bigger names and more of a consistent draw for the tournament

Sources? The website doesn't have any confirmation of teams yet
