Phil has been saving himself a ton with the putter this year, I'll give you that. And that's a big deal in these events.

Putting isn't all that matters. Like others have pointed out, recent results aren't very favorable. He did lots of his damage early on. So season long stats certainly don't paint the entire picture. Why do I have to explain that?

None of that negates the reason for his inclusion.
What's clear is that other than Tiger, the other 3 spots are completely debatable. Bryson, Finau, Phil, Kisner are in the mix. Phil is most likely in especially since he's the only one with experience among those 4. So you are likely right that he will be included. But laughing off anyone who disagrees.
