Not to worry, McCord will end up with his own show on the golf channel like Feherty...

Golf channel will pick up either one or both. McCord's shtick was getting old with me, Kostis was/is ok.

Kostis was just on the No Laying Up Pod and it's a very solid listen.

I thought it was the opposite. He used it to just bash the pga tour and the Reed cheating is something everyone does. I also hated the fact he wants MORE taped golf. It was a pretty lame interview imo.

I may have to take back what I said about McCord. I miss his voice on the broadcasts.

Now Dottie Pepper is the best analyst they have. IBF, Nobilo and DLIII all sound like they trying to one up each other on being nice. Immelman is OK. Still wish they'd get Feherty back.

It was fine, but it could have been 3 hours. Having someone who does broadcasts talk about how they are done a certain way and why would be good content. Long form is better for that topic bc of the density and nuance.

The Reed stuff was good bc it was someone who saw him cheat. Still curious why he didn't call it out more, though. Had he blatantly kicked a ball into a better lie, would Kostis still have kept quiet?

He explained it in the interview. They aren’t allowed to call penalties and become part of the story. What’s funny was when he said he had to make McCord shut up about it

Glad they cut the cord on McCord, his shtick was getting old. Kostis on the gloves other hand was insightful and knew the swing as well as anyone. Love is ok, and Immelman is just another English voice. About as dry as a bottom of a powder box.

I believe the English settled there back in the day.

What did he say?

He’s personally seen Reed cheat on 4 different occasions. Basically improving his lie outside the limits when he gets a drop. Moving the ball 4 or 5 club lengths instead of one. Named the course and hole when he did it.

For the record, he didn't move the ball 4/5 club lengths. He is walking up with 4/5 clubs and patting the ground down behind the ball. So he is just improving his lie so he can get the club on the ball.

But I get what he is saying about not being the story, but I'm struggling with it.

Excellent interview. The Reed talk was also great. Anyone defending Reed now is a moron.

Every single person puts their club behind ball in rough. That's all he said Reed did.

He said he would switch the club 5 times and take a practice swing and each time pressing the rough down behind his ball.

After that it changes the lie to be a forced layup to being able to get a 3 wood on it

Yeah. I just listened to it again, and I didn’t hear it right the first time.

Here’s an example of the situation in question:

You don’t have to agree with everything he said to find it a good interview. I disagree with the more taped golf stuff for sure, but I thought it was a fascinating listen overall.

I don't understand the decision about McCord. He's 72 and was probably going to retire in a year or two. Let him go out on his own terms.

His contract was up. If they gave him two more years, that would have meant signing a guy to a new contract that you don't want to keep.
