BTW, Tiger played with a ball for about two years that nobody else had 2000-2002. It was a Nike ball with the Titleist Pro V1, which Titleist didn't have at the time. It was an extreme difference and was part of Tiger's dominance.
How could that happen?

At least Jack wasn’t a degenerate philanderer.
I will say Jack is 1000% class. Can't find a negative thing to say about him.
Can't say that for Tiger for sure.
But Tiger in his prime years was the best golfer to ever be on this planet ever.

If you don't think the equipment/ball has made more players better than they ever would be with equipment / ball from 50 years ago, then you are just too young to understand the impact equipment/and especially the ball has made to the game.
Nicklaus is the GOAT, Tiger has 3 dominating years when he played with a superior golf ball than any other players. That info hasn't been public knowledge but it is true nevertheless.

totally irrelevant comparison.

This is so dumb. Please tell me you don’t really believe this. Tiger was only dominant because of his golf ball? lol Tiger was the best in the same way Jordan was the best in basketball. He dominated EVERY big moment in addition to winning at a high clip. Tiger put golf on the TV map. He was always in the chase and usually winning. Maybe Jack was better but nobody changed the game like Tiger. Dude was pure clutch when everyone was watching.

I don’t get this. What did Tiger do that was so bad?
Many, many people have had issues with relationships.
Presidents, various leaders. I don’t understand allowing that to hold back your impression of Tiger.

This was predicted early on. He was in a race vs father time and ran out of gas.

Because if they played each other in their prime, Tiger would kick the shite out of fat cigarette smoking Jack.
Jack and Tiger were both Uber competitive.
I doubt either wipes the floor with the other in their prime.
Tiger in general was a better chipper and pitcher of the golf ball than Jack.
Does Scottie get double digit majors?

The prov1 was used on Tour in 2000

More today because the equipment makes the game considerably easier today. The ball makes playing golf today waaaaay easier than Jack's era. I was there for both, and believe me what I say is fact.

Sorry you are ignorant of what has gone on in golf the last 25 years.
Posted on 7/23/25 at 8:23 pm to GeauxTigers0107
The PRO V1 was introduced in October 2000. Tiger won the USOpen with a Nike version of the ProV1 which he had used for 3 years prior. The Nike ball was the equivalent of the 2000 ProV1 and only Tiger had access to that ball from Nike. Not taking anything away from Tiger as being great, but the conversation was about equipment/ball when I made that post.

You think Tiger was the only one playing a prototype ball? Also, you’re making a huge assumption that the ball was so much better than what anyone else was playing.

he didn't start using that ball until the Memorial in 2000.

Tiger didn’t change to this ball until the month before the US Open at Pebble Beach. If Nike had planned correctly, they would’ve beaten Titleist to market
