Maybe I’m wrong. How many new members per year do you think a place like BRCC or NOCC allow to join?

"Maybe" don't post about things you don't know the answer to? I am not being rude. I just don't see how it is helpful to spout off BS.

Exactly. Isn't this where we tell people who bring zero to the table to go somewhere else like billy badasses?

Guy shows up to a discussion on a business and completely starts making up stuff and throwing out BS about country clubs with zero clue what he was talking about. And it is information that isn't even top secret. He could ask and get the information but he still spouts it off.

So, nobody is going to answer the question about how many new members those type of places allow to join each year?

I am too poor to know that answer. But, I do know the buy in's have been discussed on here and it wasn't $100k.

New? No. Probably a net zero every year. People die, move, divorce, go broke, etc. nee members are waiting to fill those spots.

I’m talking about new members who would be required to pay an imitation fee. How many would a club like NOCC or BRCC have in a given year?

Not many on average per year. Sometimes more, sometimes less. They don’t make money on that though. The exclusive places have a no questions asked policy for assessments. If they come up short or they want to build something new then they just have the membership pay for it. Also if you have a lot of very elite members like those clubs do then people donate small portions of their estate when they pass. Even though it’s a small portion of their high net worth, it’s a big chunk of change for the club.

That’s why I asked if 20 was a good estimate?

There are tax filings out there for public consumption that shows those types of clubs bring in close to 2 million a year on initiation fees. That would mean the initiation charge would be around 100k

It isn’t 100k. Texas and Florida have some clubs that are in that range and up but Louisiana does not. Do a quick google search for past threads on this board and you’ll see the round about numbers for those clubs.

I hear you. From my research, I just don’t think those threads are accurate.

This is something that happens at truly exclusive clubs, not in Louisiana. They may be able to get away with assesments of a few grand, but aren't asking for $20-50k assesments to redo a club house or anything.

There are some $100k+ initiation fee clubs that I am familiar with that have done assesments in the $20-30k range and still finance a portion of the renovations since anything bigger wouldn't fly with a lot of members.

That’s true. They won’t stick you for twenty at once but they darn sure will say 500 extra for months and months.

That being said, any capital project that would require that takes a long time to get approved and vote on. That’s the whole point with clubs, members have a say in what gets done. Elite clubs never have an issue raising money which is why they are so nice. Small rural clubs have to move heaven and earth to redo a bunker.

Metairie did multiple assessments over a few years for the renovations as well as bringing in some new members.

Had a good feeling this would be the outcome when you kept asking the same question after multiple people gave you the answer. Do yourself a favor and work on this annoying character flaw that you have because, well, it’s annoying
