If this is your main swing flaw, what do you think the lowest you could go is?

90's
80's
70's

If you can deliver the clubface to the ball consistently then you can score in the 70s with a shovel.

I'm been paired up with some absolutely horrendous swings over the years. But same path, same club face at impact, same start line and finish can equal good result.

Over the top swings bring so many different issues into play but, If you can make consistent contact then there is no reason you cant be a good golfer.

I continue to battle this. I am slowing getting away from it.

I have a very upright swing that gets over the top. While this helps me play a fade, my miss is a dead pull left. Current handicap is 5.6.

There have been tour pros who are slightly over the top.

There are videos out there “OTTFTI” over the top from the inside.

The 18 inches before and after impact look alike to me for most of the pro videos that are posted. How they route or reroute the club can vary. Some take it back inside and stay on/under plane, some loop it. All I know is they do it the same every time. I don’t because who wants a repeatable swing? Not going to get 10 pops in member guest with some sort of consistent swing.

If you have a repeatable swing and you can do it consistently, you shouldn't have any problems becoming a single digit handicap.

I got paired with a mid 50's baw at Webb years ago that had the worst swing in history. Over the top, huge cut. I thought after his first tee shot "this is gonna be a long day".

Baw dropped a 69 that day.

He was consistent as hell and could putt his arse off. He faded the golf course to death.

Any consistent swing can score.

People shoot in the 60s. There’s a lot of things tour pros do that isn’t ideal. The thing is they all do consistently.

Patrick Mahomes is so over the top I don’t even like to watch him swing. It gives me fear it will pass on to me

And he shoots in the 70s every now and then

I am a 7 HCP, decent player, my natural shape is a draw. I can hit some really great shots but not always consistent. My misses are sporadic and can be big hooks that go off the planet.

I play with a few guys that hit short fades but I find myself jealous of them, because they have a swing that has the same start line, the same curve, and the same distance almost every time. Every once in a while they might hit a straight pull but it's few and far between and it's still not too far off the FW or green. They will shoot in the 70s often.

If you can start the ball on the same line every time, with the same curve, and know your club distances... you can be a really good player. You don't need to hit far.

I ruined my swing, bc I saw a video of it. I tried to fix my slight over the top move. STUPID!

I’m a tall guy with a steep swing. A little over the top doesn’t hurt.
