Sorry, and dear Facebook, but damnit I’m pumped. I’ve been trying to get back to the level I was coming out of HS for 20 years and have been so close for a few years. Finally did it today and broke 70 (69) for the first time since I was 19. I’m 42 now.

Now I’m gonna dust off the good whiskey bottle and celebrate!

ETA: For anyone in north LA, Trails End in Arcadia is in the best shape I’ve ever seen. The greens have all fully recovered and it’s playing great.

Congrats Fiddy! Nothing like a stellar round to get you pumped. I had a brush with the 60’s recently and went bogey, bogey, double to close with a 73. Cruel mistress but we love her.

This was my experience recently and was so frustrating. Once I got to 3 under, the other two guys I was playing with stopped talking to me like it was a no hitter. I didn’t even notice until after the round. Thought I was going to puke on 18 tee knowing I just needed a par.

Truth. Remember these days cause the golf gods, when it’s all said and done, hate you.

Dang man. I recently just started breaking 80 (shot a 79 and 76). Both rounds everything was just working better than normal. Sad part is I missed on probably 5 or 6 bird putts, had a double and had a few other shots that I shouldn't have missed. That's the difference between a 60s round and 70s but I'm not going to complain about making progress.

Game is all "woulda shoulda could" but it is nice to see your score drop.

60s golf is incredible. What kind of Whiskey did you drink?

Wow man! Congrats. That’s legit low. Not that it matters to me but curious what distance do you play? I’m not a long hitter so I’m usually between 6300-6700 myself.

One of my goals this year was to play 9 holes under par and I still haven’t gotten there.

69 at Trails End is legit. That course is tricky.

I average 270 with the driver and 178 with the 7 iron. The course isn’t that long (6,900 yards), but tons of elevation changes and layups. I went with driver off the tee for 9 of the 14 non par 3s.

Glad to hear trails end is looking good. They have had a rough couple of years with their greens.

I still haven’t broke 70. Congrats brother!!!

One time, I was on 18 needing a bogie to break 70.

A month ago, they were. I’m not sure what they did the last 4 weeks or if it was nature finally taking the resodding they did, but they have come back fully to what they were. I wish they’d change hole locations more than twice a week, but beyond that, I was happy.

Great round, man!

Everyone playing in the Rummy Open has stored this one in the memory bank.

I really wish I could play this year. Last year was the day after I picked up my new irons and I’ve been hitting balls dang near every day since then.

Apparently I pissed someone off pretty good down there. I have a stalker downvoter who’s been following me around the golf board ever since. I figured it was Rummy.
