I am considering switching to a Yellow ProV1x for visibility.

I know last year My Golf Spy did a test on the white and yellow Srixon Z Star balls and the yellow lagged behind in total distance about 5 yards. I'm not sure if that was a Srixon issue or does it affect a yellow balls.

I have noticed that the yellow balls have gained more players on the Senior Tour.

If you play a yellow ball, have you noticed any difference in performance ?

Has switching to a yellow ball helped your visibility on shots and in the air ?

Other thoughts ?

I play yellow ProV1’s. I like them.

Can’t really comment on performance because I’m just not consistent enough to give a fair evaluation. Can’t say that anything has happened that makes me think oh that’s the ball’s fault.

Visibility is my main reason for playing them. Definitely easier to find, not many hey is that your ball conversations, and just less lost balls in general.

I've played yellow ProV1s since they had the buy 2 get one free deal. I was playing Vice's before that. So, I can't really speak to if it has worse performance compared to the white ones. However, I'm not concerned with a small difference in performance because I am just not good enough to notice. However, I do love being able to tell where my ball is immediately. It is just too convenient to have the one ball that sticks out. It is the same reason why I played the Vice shade balls previously.

Recently switched to yellow balls and I like them. Easy to find and I feel like it grabs my attention more in my downswing, thus keeping my head down

I have never understood this. Like these guys need to track their own balls. Between ball spotters, fans, and cameras, I can't remember the last time I've seen a pro on any tour on TV lose a ball.

I guess I'm an outlier but I find yellow balls more difficult to track in the air.

It doesn’t make sense. White balls are easier to see in the air and on the ground, I don’t get where these people are coming from

White ball with white clouds in the background?

Yellow ball with white clouds in the background?

Pretty sure yellow is a little easier to see, especially for old folks with shitty eyesight

I think they are just as hard to find as well.

They track it because they may learn something regarding their strike that day. Seeing the flight is relevant.

They are equally hard to find in the water. Can confirm.

I switched to Yellow ProV1 and noticed no difference in performance. I find the yellow a bit more durable as well

I use the TaylorMade TP5x yellow ball and I like it. Haven't noticed any difference in performance, but I can actually see the ball. Yes glasses probably would help too

Have you tried hitting it in the fairway?

I think the contrast in a bunker might be helpful.

My course has a hole #10 that’s parallel to the range and our range has shitty yellow range balls. If you pull it on that hole, the yellow is not a positive

Cypress Lakes' range is between #1 & 9 Fairways, on #1 if you tee off after 10 am the fairway is full of yellow balls. I'm team yellow ball (my old eyes sees them much better than white ones in flight) but I carry one white ball in my bag to use on #1 so I don't have to go on an Easter Egg hunt to find my ball.
