I’ve heard a rumor that they sprayed and killed the greens. Has anyone been there lately and can confirm?

Was told yesterday a high school tournament was moved to new Iberia because they killed the greens at the wetlands.

they did not Spray and kill the Greens. They have been working on trying to kill the Poa on the greens, and have been working with Chemical company reps and University's to possible find something that works. the greens are not dead, but may have thinned out.

The girl's division was moved from Vieux Chenes to the Wetlands and the boy's division that usually plays The Wetlands is now at Cane Row. The organizer thought that there is too many force carries at Cane Row for the girls.

Played this morning at The Wetlands and the greens have improved significantly. There are still a few greens with some damage in the outer edge of the greens, but it is not disruptive. It is definitely worth playing.

Too many forced carries? Move the tees up… not an excuse. The only greens better than cane row is Oakbourne and LT….Just ask the kids… they will say the truth…

I played Cane Row Friday

The greens are excellent

I have avoided the Wetlands as much as possible since September of last year

Ever since they punched the greens in August, the course has been off

too many forced caries is the design of the course. if the course plays to long for you, then play the next set of tees up. there's 5 tee boxes to chose from. and the comment about Cane Rows greens is ridiculous. Not many other courses to put in that list now is there? I am glad that Cane Rows greens are great. that club needed a spark.

Technically, he’s not wrong. Outside of Oakbourne and LT, they probably have the best greens around. IDK what the farm looks like right now. Their greens were fire a few months back when I played.

Oakbourne's were like that about a week or two ago, super grainy and bumpy. Played the 4 Ball this weekend and they were hard as a rock and rolling fast as shite. They cut and rolled them like crazy. Heard a rumor that they stimped 13 on Saturday. Couldn't stop any chips or pitches if your life depended on it. Putts rolled true though. Difficult to play but still in great condition.

A friend of mine played Vieux Chenes on Saturday and said it is the absolute worst greens he's ever seen, anywhere. Pretty close to unplayable. I never play there because it's a shite course and always overcrowded, but he said even compared to historical conditions, the greens were an embarrassment.

I think a lot of courses around here are trying to figure some shite out with their greens especially with all the poa popping up more than usual. Some have succeeded and others have not.

Couldn't tell you how they are looking as of now, but when I played it last time in early March, their greens were in great shape.
