Soft feeling irons.

Ok I am getting a whole new bag this season. When I play i get down to about an 8 handicap. I like the feel of a soft iron. Tell me about the 0311 pxg irons. A guy I know is selling his really cheap and Im thinking about snagging them. I played the mizuno MP 68s forever.

Srixons will be softer.
PXG makes some good stuff but not for what they’re asking new. If you’re sure your buddy’s clubs aren’t fake, buy and sell em if you don’t like em. How cheap is cheap?

I have the Gen 1 0311’s and I love them. Bought them lightly used from a buddy and got a steal on them. ($650) They feel great and I get good feedback from them. They’re also super forgiving and I’m about half a club longer than the Mizunos JPX 900 Tours was playing previously. Like the other guy said, I wouldn’t have paid full ask for a new custom fit set, but I got these and took them to Buddha for a fitting and I’m all in less than $900.

If u hit in the center of the face, all irons are “soft” - but I have pxg and I really like them

I have been a Mizuno guy for 20 years. I just bought a set of PXGs and love them. I still have my Mizunos, but am no longer good enough to play with blades, so I went with 0311t and they are soft. Have Nippon shafts and they make a big difference, too, if your buddy has those in his set.

I think if you’re done with Mizuno (probably the softest iron I’ve ever hit or played) then I’d take a look at miura over PXG. If you got the money for them you might as well.

Are softer irons more forgiving for amateurs because of lower club speed?

Yea i cant snag the miuras. I wish I could. A guy is selling the miura blades for 1700 and they look like they haven't been hit. I got to buy driver, 3 wood, wedges and putter too, and a bag. So 1700 is out of the question.

Instead of iron - look at shaft - converted to Nippon modus 2 years ago and it was a game changer.
