What would Bernhard Langer’s avg score be if he played 10 rounds at Webb Golf Course?

Having never played Webb, 63

The setups they play are nothing like what we play. Put them on a course with little to no rough and they will destroy it

What I was thinking.

Anybody ever hear the story of Vijay Singh playing 9 holes at Sugarland Country Club in Raceland years ago? Can't remember the exact score but seems like it was something ridiculous like -7.

Everybody out there probably thought he was from Pointe Aux Chene

I’ve never heard that story and find it hard to believe

Ability gets you only so far on a shitty course. I’ve seen putts bounce over the hole before, as well as putts hit the back of the cup and come straight back at me

Average? Easily 66 or better.

I don't think he could shoot higher than 70 there on any given day. He would easily birdie every par 5, so that's -4 right there. A lot of birdie hole par 4s. Not a whole lot of trouble so he would have to hit some real poor shots to not have a green in regulation.

Mid 60s would be mode.
Toss in a 61.
Maybe a 69.

I saw it happen on my home course in Paducah with the young minor league pros.

Langer is a senior, so 66 avg

What is the bet? Guessing what we guess?

No way to establish a fact.

I've always heard that if you're not consistently shooting 68 on your home course, don't even think about trying to be a pro.

He'd prob go low 60s.

Not sure the course ratings on a Champions Tour Set up, but I think PGA Tour courses are around 77... for all intents and purposes, that’s the effective Par for the course. And most of the decent PGA pros will have a stroke average of 70 or below.

If you put them on a run-of-the-mill weekend hacker set up of 6500 yards with a rating of 72, that means they would be a +7 handicap, or par for them would in reality be about 65.

How many strokes do you allow for shitty conditions? Bare spot or hard pan in the fairway, bumpy greens, terrible sand traps, etc?

Webb is not just a easy course but a easy, terrible conditioned course. Has to throw in some kind of wrinkle.
