We skipped em at the turn and finished up in about 2 hours. Course was wide open on the back due to how slow these bums were.

Why would y’all wait till the turn to pass them up if the back was wide open?

Answer: Y’all waited till the turn because you exaggerated how long it took

I’ve played charity scrambles with alcohol and food on every hole that didnt take 4 hours to play 9.

My arse would have been out of there after three holes. Good on you for riding that one out.

Call it what you want, you weren’t there. You also weren’t charged full rate. You also were warned in pro shop.

You also had no reason to call after the round and raise hell. I have no reason lie about the duration

Congrats on your hour and a half front 9, carts on path foursome round though. I’ll send you a cookie.

You're the one telling people to avoid Santa Maria with made up bullshite.

The pro shop was telling everyone that the greens were recently punched and that they were only charging twilight rate fees because of it.

And no way will you get me to believe that it took 4 hours to play 9 holes.

Fifty something dollars is hard for me to leave after half.

The 7, 8, 9 stretch is really the only chance SM provides to see how the back 9 looks. We were on 7 and noticed a group on 11 green and by the time we made it to 8 green, we realized that that was the last group we saw on the back. Made the jump at the turn.

All these figs jumping to conclusions is cracking me up though

Follow up from my post a few days ago, and to confirm OP is correct. I am officially done with SM for the foreseeable future. Granted the course was very wet, swamp conditions times 100, starter was nice, greens were okay not horribly slow, but very bumpy. If you enjoy goose scat, mounds of mud, make shift greens, and Marshalls on your arse about a tire off the cart path and dont mind paying full price have at it. I will take my game elsewhere. This place needs a break. You can tell its well trafficked as your lie in the fairway or around the greens will indicate.

Which one of you left this review for Santa Maria on Golfnow on 6/13?

Hot Garbage
06/13/2022

Handicap: n/a Plays: Once a week

Gave this 1 star because 0 wasn’t an option. The two players I went with love this place but I just don’t see it. The layout is okay, but the greens were absolutely terrible. Very dry conditions, ball would not hold green or fairways. This is the second time I’ve ever played this course and twice I’ve felt like it was a waste of money and my time. This place is hot garbage, straight jankass. Will not play here again. If you wanna waste time and money, go spend less and do it at any of the other local BR courses that at minimum are proportionate to the amount of dumpster fire conditions that this place was.

Well yea it’s Webble beach but it is straight BR soul my friend. They have long hard fair ways with a great concrete ditch runs the course and then you get the ghetto apartments right next to the holes. It’s true BR to the core.

I don’t think I’ve ever played and the greens actually being puttable

I really find 4 hours to play 9 holes that’s 45 minutes per hole - believable. That’s bullshite

I just didn’t convert it back to minutes- it’s actually 26 minutes per hole. Or .43% of an hour

I've played a number of 6 hour rounds out there when conditions werent as described. That's 20 minutes a hole. I could see carts on path and shoddy conditions slowing the pace up a bit.

My issue out there has always been the good ole boy network. Marshals know the fivesome of senior tour guys holding up the entire course.

Really wish the EBR scene had better options.
