TPC Sawgrass is great and I love The Players but it can most certainly be “re-created”.
Build a stadium course out side Tokyo, Seoul or Melbourne and play a ‘major’ there yearly and the place would go nuts.
Sure it could recreated, I agree, but two points. 1) to throw down The players as some .. side event in Ponte Vedra and presumably the LIV can do better than that because ...LIV is international or LIV will be 48 elite players is silly. Well, LIV can't really be any more international and can't have a better field. You can put it out side ( way out side )Tokyo but you can't really get more people in
2) the premise was " can LIV stand with out Saudi money...if so how" again the idea of being better than players ( or the majors) in all of their events is probably more of a hope than a plan. With nearly a billion committed to contracts plus other administrative costs.. Then the potential of owners revenue ... None of this happens or continues to happen at scale without Muhammed bin Salman and his lack of concern for making a profit
ETA. On a side note... The PGA tour got the land for the Stadium Course for ..$1 ( granted they/Dye had to do a lot of work on it, but still a heck of a deal)

I just wonder how long they will be interested in golf for.
I wouldn't try to put a stopwatch on it. A quick google and you can see that Saudi Arabia's ownership in sports such as boxing, football (the soccer kind) Formula 1, and even the WWE send the signal they are diversified and as determined as any other owners of sports leagues and teams anywhere else.
Arabs can like sports too.

Who did that?

Than the Tour? What?

Once again, what are you talking about?

You have no idea what his appetite for profit is
It's like I'm taking fricking crazy pill reading your posts. You are just making shite up

I see the problem now, I presumed you actually remember your posting history and content.

Apparently it's zero. It's comical at this point you think he's going to make a profit or is worried about.
I will throw this tangent out. I'll admit... I have no idea what the profit appetite is for the Saudis. You admit you have no idea what's in the LIV contracts

No one knows exactly what's in the LIV contracts. Seemingly some of the smaller guys got only advances on prize money, where as guys like Stenson said they have been paid.
Is this supposed to be some sort of gotcha on an indisputable fact?

Based on?

That was evident when you busted him out for bringing up Ponte Verda first of which he had zero recollection.

He asked specifically about the Players. The Players is held in Ponte Vedra. I'm still confused on how I brought that up
quote:
How would they generate more advertising dollars than the Players ( which has had all 48 and many more) or Augusta or The Opens

Not really a "gotcha": but to make sure we have the same understanding. The comment you have made several times of " you don't know that" ...Well that same response should be made to everyone that touts " guaranteed contracts" and the money of LIV. We have no idea that Phil Mickelson is actually getting 200 million or what he has to do to get that. What does Bryson get if he is injured? It's a minor point but one that needs to be made.. That we should stop using the term "guaranteed money"

With no cut or jeopardy.
LIV contracts are basically exhibition money.
Kind of like Buffalo Bill and his Wild West Show.
Or in modern times Biden wanting to forgive student loan debt.

I still think the end goal is to make LIV similar Formula 1.

Maybe.
I just made the post above yours to piss off The Angry One since he was online.
His obsession with my posts are borderline psychotic.
I could go from the Tour side and start loving LIV Golf and he would flip to the other side.
