Losing money actually, their tournaments have no meaning except for the guys playing in them.

I don’t think the players would agree with you here.

They can not agree all they want. It isn’t really an opinion at this point

Just use Jon Rahm. What was his actual worth to the Tour? What is his actual worth to LIV?

One tour lost him and ratings increased, one tour gained him and ratings are non existent

It's pretty impressive how much head space LIV v PGA TV ratings takes from you. Can you make a season-long thread? You can reply to yourself over and over.

Took me the same amount of time to make this thread as it did you to reply

Here's an idea, why not enjoy both tours? I enjoy watching golf when nothing else is on. To be honest, if Scottie wasn't on such a record breaking pace, I doubt the viewership would have been that high. The course wasn't really all that entertaining, but the arse whooping he put on was. Are you related to Jay Monohan or something? It's almost like you have a job promoting the tour.

CBS averages 2.918M viewers for Scottie Scheffler's dominating win Sunday in the CJ Cup Byron Nelson, up 66% from 1.757M last year for Taylor Pendrith. Prior two years were 2.326M (Day) and 2.848M (KH Lee, Spieth 2nd).

a 3 year high by less than 100k viewers is "crushing ratings" to you? I get your whole shtick is to be an annoying troll, but at least be founded in reality.

Average on CBS is up a MASSIVE 26% for all tournaments!! They should double Monahan’s salary bc he’s doing such a great job

you love to self-declare your opinion as fact. It’s fascinating. There was a poster here years ago named Rex that did the same thing. I knew Rex. You sir, are no Rex.

This is so obtuse

3 years ago what I said would have been an opinion, we didn’t know if the players leaving had value and the tour would suffer

We have the factual analysis now that even with multiple top superstars leaving the PGA tour it doesn’t matter.. Rahm, Koepka, Bryson all left. Facts. The tour is not suffering. Facts.

Lucky for them, the PIF is probably the only entity that can easily withstand such gluttonous spending.

There was a good article this week about the Saudi’s continuing to dump money into LIV, but this time with more stipulations.

It appears, at least to me, even the Saudis are starting to look for some kind of return. LIV has had almost 5 billion dollars dumped into it just for 48,000 people to watch in the United States.

Will be interesting to see if the Saudi’s pony up the money it’s going to take to hold onto Bryson, Rahm, etc.

You would never post anything like this if LIV never happened.

Golf has been growing big time since covid. Tv ratings and the game in general. Used to be easy to get tee times. Now not so much. And used clubs are going for a lot more. i used to get like $50 for a driver that was 2-3 years old. Now you can still get like 50% of what it cost new.

I bought my last scotty for $350 in 2018. Sold it last year for $300

And women are starting to get into it because its a good sport to share insta bullshite about. The masters has capitalized on this. Women who dont really care about golf wanting to host masters parties

I mean that’s the whole point of why he is doing this. So far LIV has failed big time.

Totally anecdotal, but I watched LIV on TV for the first time couple months ago, one of the tournaments before Doral. I heard the shitty music bumping, and saw the weird graphics. Group of Oosty, Poulter, and maybe Grace were on a short par 3, around 130 yards. All 3 hit god awful shots, missed the green or had long putts. I know it's not indicative of the whole thing, but I was just turned off. Not serious shite.

I know PGA tournaments like last week are blah, but at least you have dudes playing for something. LIV to me feels like "going through the motions" golf.
