Thinking about buying new wedges, Cleveland, vokey etc. Thoughts? I have been playing ping tours for 10 yrs. also thinking about trying out Vice balls, have heard good things but haven’t strayed from TP5x or ProV1x. Any input appreciated

You can't go wrong with the new Cleveland, SM8 Vokeys or new Ping Glides 3.0

The new Mizuno wedges are very nice. I have never been a TaylorMade guy so I am not familiar with them.

Personally, I found the Snell MT-B balls to be better than the Vice Pro's.

Cleveland always makes great wedges. I also like the Taylor Made MG2's

Every black friday Callaway preowned does bogo wedges and they can be in basically brand new condition still in the wrapper. Best bang for your buck if you wait til then

I also switch between TP5X and Pro V1X, and I did not care for Vice, fwiw.

I tried out a dozen and I found them very inconsistent, like I could have a 10-15 yard variance with the same club and same contact. Golf is hard enough - throwing in an extra guessing game about how far the ball will go doesn’t interest me.

I play vokeys, but go try different ones.

Cleveland is popular.

Next time I get new wedges, I’m going 50,54,58.
Currently I have 48,52,56,60.

I can’t hit a 60 very far.
This will allow me to put a hybrid in the bag.

Also play v1x and 5x ball.

Vice balls are shite.

Big fan of Vokeys here, have a 52,56,60 and don't see myself going any other direction. Have a big gap between my PW and 52 currently but plan to get some higher loft irons in the spring. My current Cleveland PW is a 46 so obviously too big of a gap.

As long as the ball you are comfortable paying for a premium ball, you can’t go wrong with most 3-piece balls (urethane covers).

I like MTB-X from Snell - long, firm, and spins well around the green. 33% cheaper than Pro-V1X as well.

I like Vice balls and also TP5X, whatever makes you comfortable use, but there have been plenty of independent testing and the ball isn't causing a 10-15 yard variance.

I think there is definitely something to be said for playing the same ball consistantly

Maybe, I've just never experienced that with any other ball. It was like several well-struck shots just came out dead. Maybe it's my particular swing, who knows - but with the TP5/PV1, I know how far the ball is going with good shots and mishits.

I think that's key also, I tell people that want to get better at golf, that they don't need to have balls that are 45/dozen, but you are better off in playing the same ball all the time, even if its a ball that's 15-20 dollars a dozen.

I like Cleveland wedges, but they are all good.

You can get Cleveland RTX4 wedges for $99 & Vokey SM7's for $120 right now.
