LSU golf course
Gonna be in town this weekend, playing out there Saturday for nostalgia, is the course in any kind of decent shape at the moment or is it a goat ranch?

The last few times I've played it, the greens were in good shape. Plush and slow, but good shape. Bunkers were terrible.

Prepare for a long round. Once those carts stack up on #1, it's going to be hit and wait all day.

Played it a week ago, and they had lost 6 greens. The other 12 seemed to be fine. I’d play elsewhere.

Like I said, playing for nostalgia not pristine conditions. Hell I’m not even flying with my clubs!

Played last Monday. Few of the greens were drying up due to apparent sprinkler issues but most of them were pretty fast (for LSU). Roughs were thick. Fairways looked rough though, like one of the reels on the mower was stuck kinda rough.

Pace of play was garbage as usual. I always enjoy the course. Could be a good course with some tweaks and some decent oversight. TAF should take over

I was bragging on LSU all spring. It was in the best shape I'd seen it in years. No dead spots on greens, weed free fairways, it looked great.

I went back this past Friday and the place is a disaster. It's almost like they decided they didn't need to maintain it anymore. Greens are either scorched or sand. Fairways are scalped and loaded with weeds and crabgrass. Rough is ok but they haven't been cutting the grass so prepare to lose balls that are easily in play. One of the things that pisses me off the most is the ridiculous amount of areas they have roped off because its too wet. Well now they are waist high marshlands.

Its unfortunate because I really thought they were making a comeback this spring but the place has gone right back to shite.

Well that’s a bummer, sounds like it’ll be a fun round!

Played there Sunday and I totally agree with you. Weeks ago I was bragging to friends that they had the best public course greens in Baton Rouge for the price. Also while cutting the greens Sunday, a mower had a bad hydraulic oil leak on greens 6 thru 9. Didn't play the back nine.

All of this! I played there a couple weeks ago and was so disappointed. I lost a couple balls that were normally very good safe plays because they rolled into the abyss.

All that said, I'll still go play there because I am still boycotting Webb and I like to play mid week cheap rounds.

I played Webb 10 days ago and was pleasantly surprised at the progress on the greens. $21 to walk on a Saturday morning.

They punched and sanded the greens (and punched the fairways) the following Monday. I'd give it a couple weeks before going back. But I have been pleasantly surprised as well before that. I generally only play after work, but $11 to get in 18 holes on a weekday evening is perfectly fine with me.

I had an issue with some of the "regulars" that play there. Also had some dealings with the "marshalls" a couple trips in a row.

It might be a decent place to play but I doubt they get any of my money anytime soon.

I am slightly annoyed at the fact that the course must be cleared by 7:30 even when there is still 30 minutes of sunlight left. I don't know of any other courses that do this.

Played LSU today, and the place has turned into a complete goat ranch. Just don’t even bother anymore, because they sure aren’t putting any effort into the course.

It has fallen out of my rotation, for sure. I'll play Webb any day over LSU right now and I thought I would never live long enough to say that.

This was the first and only course I've ever played where there was caution tape, and like unburied sewage pipes that you could drive a car through sitting around.

Also the mosquito problem is absolutely insance
