Yup. If LIV golf was taking off like they hoped there’s no reason to make the deal. They would have had more defectors lined up and eventually a nice TV deal.
It doesn’t matter now, the fans for the first time in like 2 years finally get a win in this whole debacle. The LIV / PGA BS goes away and we get to see the best play each other weekly.

only you would make an argument that Jay looks good after this. Jay did what Jay does. fricked over his players to line his pockets.

the split was bad for the fans
I just want to see all the best players at the same events
I am excited to get back to where we were in the sport before LIV arrived

They were open to a deal from day 1. This was always their goal and they got it. Not sure why people think this is a loss for them.

It’s over, take the L and move on. PGA tour sold out.
I’m agreeing with you there. But LIV was just suing the PGA Tour over being a monopoly, correct?

I don’t think anyone is a loser in this. Ultimately the players are going to get big money, the fans get what we want, Jay maintains control, Saudis get into the PGA, and Greg / Phil get to say we told you so.
You can debate whether the Saudis being involved is good for golf, but ultimately it’s the compromise we needed.

Yeh, how does this fix the “monopoly” angle?

So if LIV was cratering, why would the PGA Tour make a deal?
Hint, LIV was about to clean house in court and the PGA was in a pickle. This isn't LIV negotiating from a position of weakness. Quite the opposite.

Golf Channel is doing there best to shite all over the agreement. Golf Channel just found out how irrelevant the PGA viewed them. They were absolutely blindsided. In shock.

This seems like a war both sides didn’t like their current positions and they split the baby down the middle

It doesn't, but again it was never about that to begin with.

Going to be hilarious to see all the anti-Saudi money try and defend this one now
Exactly my first thought.

Ehh, idk. Monahan remaining in charge leads me to believe the Saudis reached out for this deal.

Wesley Bryan going off on Twitter.
He must’ve turned down some cash. He’s probably kicking himself for that decision since he purchased a golf course within the last several months.

The crawfishing from people like Jack Nicklaus is hilarious.

I think they both reached out. They both were struggling with the current format and both needed this deal to move forward.

That’s true. And I doubt either side really wanted this to end up in court and have to open the books
Either way, as a fan of golf today is a great day. If monahan and norman want to claim the high ground I don’t give a shite.
