Playing the Shriners Classic. If I was women’s golfers I would be pissed. She is going to make them look terrible. Pick Rose or someone playing well, but this is a disaster waiting to happen with Lexi

It's a tournament in the fall that gets no FedEx points (I believe). They need to drum up some sort of attention for the event.

Lexi is one of the only ones out there that hits it potentially far enough to play, and she's a name.

Rose would have 3w or driver into par 4's.

Lexi has missed more cuts than she had made this year. She is 112th on this years money list for the LPGA. She has been a bad/struggling women’s golfer on women’s tees.

She is going to absolutely embarrass women’s golf. Her length won’t matter for shite and many many many other women would have at least not been embarrassed

She was a disaster in the Solheim.

Had an awful shank with her match on the line, then refused to answer questions about it.

She played pretty well in the Solheim Cup.

She has better legs than Rose.

Her form heading in

And honestly, she is likely to have more eyeballs on her than ever at an event. She isn’t exactly known to handle pressure well….I know this is exposure and money in the short term, but I’m kinda surprised she accepted this

“I’m hopeful that my ability to play with the men next week at the Shriners Children’s Open sends a great message to the young women that you can chase your dream regardless of how hard it is,” Thompson said in a statement.

What message will it send to the young women when you miss the cut by 10 strokes?

The course will be about 7,200 yards. Some woman's event can get in the 6,800 range. She is one of the longest drivers on the tour but she better not miss a fairway and the rest of her game better be on an all time high because the cut is going to be around -4 to -7 under.

Its a sponsor's exemption to a tournament that is desperate for viewers. Lexi is one of the most recognizable names in women's golf over the last 10 years or so and may actually bring some casual viewers just to see how she does. They know she doesn't have a chance, but none of the women really would.

Does anyone else have close to the name recognition as Lexi Thompson among people who don't pay attention to LPGA events? Maybe Nelly Korda or Lydia Ko?

Lexi is the only one I would tune in for, and those responsible know this is a popular sentiment.

They’re in Vegas, so she’ll have some help from elevation

Why would a womans life long dream be to play in a men’s event?

Fwiw, she’s done ok at the partners tournament in Naples (QBE) or whatever it’s called now.

But yeah, she was bad this year although she’s looked at least better in her last 3 starts.

Nelly Korda seems like the best pick. Averages close to 270 off the tee (similar to Lexi), playing much better, has some name notoriety, decent looking.

270 average is around 13th on the LPGA. On the PGA it would be dead last by 7 yards last year. It will be tough for her.

Y’all don’t seriously think this has anything to do with how well she’s been playing lately, or driving distance, do you?

There is millions of hours of porn on the internet of women hotter than her getting naked and having actual sex

If you watch a female play golf just because you think they are pretty you have a screw loose and likely are a serial killer
