Yep, last year the Tuesday of Masters week.

It’s amazing. Challenging, but fun. We used caddies, would suggest the same...they were cool and a big help. Prepare to drop some cash in the pro shop!

Future father in law has played it, says it is really hard if the wind is blowing.

TV for Ryder Cup did the course and conditions no justice. Beautiful, great course but can be very difficult to play

Walking only with caddies when I am there, and the pro shop is a given!

Everything there is pretty expensive. $18 for a sleeve of balls, shirts starting at $95, etc. You can actually play one of the other courses first and then play the Ocean Course for half off (Still $300+) but does save you some coin and get to play 36.

The bunkers dont have a ton of sand in them which makes being in them greenside very challenging. Wind obviously howls so its a grind. Caddies were great and scenery is awesome. Youll have a great time!

Expect a very great golf experience.

Course isn’t overly hard if you play the right tees for you, they have about 6 to choose from. Obviously this assumes mild wind. Very hard when the wind blows as the course runs parallel to the ocean so every shot has cross wind.

Listen to your caddy.

Typical Dye course. Visually it looks narrow and small but plenty of space.

Greens are a different grass than you a probably use to (can’t remember what they are) but it can be an adjustment.

Plan to stay after the round and enjoy some drinks in the clubhouse if they are allowing that currently.

They do, have lunch planned before the round at Ryder Cup Bar, dinner upstairs one night overlooking the course at The Atlantic Room and dinner the other night at The Ocean Room, just a nice little anniversary get away with the wife. She will enjoy the spa while I get in one round of golf

I played the Osprey Course when LSU went to Columbia the last time

We went to the Pro Shop at the Ocean Course and ate lunch in the clubhouse next to 18 green

Talked to a group that had just finished the Ocean Course, and they said in one word- brutal. LOL

Our group was 9-13 hdcp, and I was advised beforehand to enjoy Osprey, and most of our group had been to Scotland, Pebble, etc. LOL

It was windy that day, though

I think they're paspalum now. They were Bermuda when I played it 25 years ago.

It's really fricking hard. The day I played it the wind was steady at 20 gusting to 30. Best part of the round was the price I paid- it was free.

It’s such an amazing experience - blows away Pinehurst #2 in terms of overall experience IMHO... my two girls play it every year.. my 11 year old shot an 83 from the forward tees and was ticked she didn’t bust 80... 9 year old shot 79 from about 4000 yards... have fun man....
