I’ve never played a par 3 course so I played one today. It was good short game practice but really weird to stand on a tee box and have 64 yards to a pin. I shot 28

79 w/ 1 birdie and 2 doubles today. Finally remembered how to hit my driver just in time to bogey the last hole from 130 out in the middle of the fairway

I’m learning to love it. The 70x is a lot of shaft but it fits me pretty well. When hit well it goes as far as any other driver I’ve hit but the mishits are a bit shorter than mishits with other drivers. But they are also straighter and don’t get me in as much trouble as I used to be. I just have to remember how to swing it before the 18th hole

When is yours coming?

Played LaTour today, in very good conditions. Greens have a little browning but rolled great. Hit my new 3 wood today, Callaway Mavrik. OMG I love it, long and easy to hit. It did cost me on 13, 2nd shot from 265 plugged in greenside bunker; expected to be out 35-40 yds. I never have hit a 3 wood that far. Might tryout the Mavrik driver at a demo day. Shot 83, which for me is good. Playing the right tees for my age/ability helps.

75 at Le Triomphe on Saturday and 78 at Oakbourne Sunday.

Two good rounds for me. Both courses are in excellent shape

37 on the front at Carter, which is a good score considering I was listenong to Disney music, keeping two kids out the sand bunkers and focused on everything but golf. Maybe that unlocked the secret to my golf game.

It’s amazing what you can do when you’re not grinding out a score. It’s tough to care about roasting a 6i when your daughter is singing Let it Go for all she worth.

Instead of thinking about the next shot in the cart between shots, I spent the entire time trying to make sure my daughter didn't crash the cart. Dale Earnhardt she is not.

39-42=81 on Saturday at Copper. One off my personal best of 80. And the funny thing is that I didn’t even play that great. I just had the driver working and was chipping lights out.
Iron play and fairway woods play was meh and my putting actually got worse as the round went on.

But all in all I was happy I was able to score so well.

Played Audubon Sunday morning, 66. Course was crowded, bike path was full of running/rollerblading hotties. Closing this place would be a damn shame.

Played Tempest Golf course Friday and Saturday in East Texas and ill just say don't expect to have a great score on your first few go arounds. This was my first time playing a course with serious elevation changes with blind tee shots and I did not do well. Course was in great condition though but is very unforgiving if your drive is offline even a little. Had a green with a 4'-5' downhill slope. Talk about an impossible putt.

Tell me more. Good condition? Expensive?

It's somewhat on my way to the in laws. Need a good reason to stop and play.

Great Condition was a little hard on some of the tee boxes but it has not rained in a week and has been 90+ degrees all week. $50 during the week and $75 on weekends with a cart. The course just underwent a multi-million dollar renovation a year ago and they didn't cut any corners. Its beautiful and the layout of rolling hills is just not something I have ever experienced before. I have a connection to the course so if you have any questions just let me know.

Course was just named 2nd best new course in Texas and #24 top public course in Texas by the Dallas Morning news annual golf review.

How is she looking? Its been 2 years since Ive been out there.

How hard is it to get a fricking Santa Maria tee time now?

Ive called two weeks out and still cant get anything in the morning on the weekend.
