“Well I just couldn’t get any putts to drop ya know?” And it’s true that is ALWAYS the case. But maybe try something different? New putter, new grip, change putters mid tournament after struggling just to spice it up short term. While I PROBABLY MAYBE am not one to give Rory advice, I know if I temporarily change drivers or putters for like one round sometimes you get on fire and think I love this putter. (Sometimes not) then I get tricked into buying said putter and can’t make anything but that’s beside the point. He could get hot one round or something to get over this major slump. Free advice Rory from an amateur take it or leave it. Keep barely missing those 8 footers but I respect the hell out of him after the pga commish back stabbed him. Really wanted him to win this. Pressure was heavy.

I'm sure he'll hit up the MSB shortly in search of answers.

I think you need to spice things up mid paragraph and change these words to absolutely and definitely.

It's a good thing we have all the answers.

Rory probably has data on how he rolls 100+ different putters.

There’s a reason he’s stuck with the same one. It’s because he putts the best with it.

Just like he told that dude at their last players meeting. He should probably play better.

Let's see, he is playing golf in England. You are sitting on your miserable arse typing this drivel.

I know and I know its silly to say it but if im trying to win a major and can steal a round or 2. I would think he could pratice at night with a different putter just to try and strike gold. but I know he knows what's best and it's not like he misses by a mile or anything. its worked for me before but its also worked against me before

He putted relatively poorly today, but he has some other real issues. He missed a couple fairways when trying to lay well back. When he did get aggressive with the driver he wasn’t hitting it solid and the ball was curving a lot. He also hit some very mediocre iron shots in the middle of his round. He seems to get super conservative when he’s near the lead on the weekend. Old Course last year and LACC this year are both examples. Hitting 18 GIR doesn’t necessarily mean you hit it great. It can mean you weren’t being aggressive enough.

this is all true but I think his putting puts that extra stress on the ball striking. its impossible to hit it as good as Rory especially lately. the last couple days were the first slips but if he could have made more putts....eh who knows just don't want harman to win

Putting has got to be the bane of a golfer's existence from a hack golfer like me to the pros. I'll have one round out of every 10 or 15 where I can sink a lot of putts. The other rounds, it seems like I can skirt the hole by fractions of an inch damn near every time and miss every birdie putt or par scramble. Rory isn't wrong or blaming something out of convenience. It's just a matter of fact. He missed too many putts and that's really what cost him. Harman on the other hand sunk a lot of lengthy putts and that's what won it for him. Although, he had some hellaciously good chip shots and capitalized.
