they're irons...if you give in and get them covers next thing you know they will want something else...

irons have to be taught respect...

Tools not jewels.

They're irons. They're meant to slam into the ground. Keep covers on the woods & putter to prevent unnecessary nicks and ding. A little bag chatter on your irons isn't gonna cost you strokes

something about the sound of "bag chatter" and metal spikes on the cart path, walking out to #1 tee, brings back memories...

If it’s good enough for the pros, it’s good enough for me. What type of iron covers do the players that rely on their equipment to earn a living typically use? I’ll go with that brand/type.

And you probably play from the forward tees.

Everybody hates so hard on the iron covers, but I love mine.

I’ve had them for probably 8 years and my clubs still look relatively brand new.

I don’t understand the hate for them

I'm over 60, have fairly new irons and would never use iron covers!

Not sure that is a great comparison. Most of those guys dont pay for their clubs and replace them every few tournaments. Not enough damage can be done in such limited amount of time just banging around in a bag.

Now someone who stretched their budget to get the best clubs they could and needs them to last 10+ years, I think that is a scenario worth evaluating for many folks.

I'm not sure Senior tees existed when I played. Where are they in relation to the white tees? And ftr I'm 74.

At my home course the senior tees are about 5 yards behind the ladies tees, usually.

But we've got some old bird named Dolores out there half the week clogging up the course and her old arse needs to be teeing off from the "no carts beyond this point" signs.

My wife, as sweet as she could be, bought me some for Christmas one year. I smiled, acted excited, then threw them in the trash can.

Just another way for +20 handicap golfers to slow down the pace of play more.

Ironically (and I’m not a great golfer by any stretch of the imagination) but I rarely play with anybody that’s ever been flat out better than me, which is strange cuz I’ve only broke 80 once and mostly shoot mid to high 80s. I think it’s because most people lie about their scores and don’t putt out ever putt but I digress.

I have no idea where the hate for iron covers came from. I remember when I got my brand new set of irons I wanted to keep them pristine, plus I thought iron covers look cool (I love mine and think they look awesome). Not to mention, drivers, woods, and putters were covered... Why not all the clubs? I didn’t realize it had some weird stigma from weekend warrior hacks. Oddly enough I don’t think I’ve ever received any negative comments about having them, despite finding out after the fact there was some weird disgust for them.

Just to add too - if anything, having iron covers makes me faster. People will piss about in their bags looking for the right iron etc, and here mine all have nice large white stitching that has the number on them. I simply grab whatever club I need (easily visible) slide off the iron cover, stick it on my alignment stick in my bag while I hit my shot, put the iron cover back on and head off. It couldn’t be less time consuming.

So to sum up and break some stereotypes in here, while admittedly being at risk of sounding like MileHighDraw I’m in my early 30s. I drive the ball over 300 yards. I’d beat most of the honest golfers out there. My iron covers look dope af. And my 6-8 year old clubs still look like I just bought them yesterday
