I keep going back and forth on what I’d like to see for next years tournament on the caliber of player. Do you have good to great golfers across the board or do you mix in the duke’s and Josh Richard’s to keep alt shot interesting?
I think being entertaining is far more important than your actual golf game but they need to probably have a 18 hcp max. Like you cannot have someone as bad as the duke on that par 3 course or the team doesn't stand a chance. The tourney only works if it maintains balance among the teams otherwise one team will run away with it creating a very boring watch.
Looking back at the series, i can't believe how lucky they got with each round being as close and intriguing as it was. You had the huge comeback on the second day, the par 3 course was a great idea just bc any team can blow up at any point and then the finale was as good as it could be from an entertainment standpoint. The only miss was really Kwon on day1 torpedoing his team

18 hcp max
quote:this was an epic collapse and made for excellent viewing.
huge comeback on the second day
The par 3 being a stroke play event was a genius move because now every shot is very important whereas an errant drive can be made up and still a chance at par. Whereas a bad tee shot on the par 3 was an immediate bogey.
I have a kind of crazy idea, but if the first two days were captained by an actual non playing pro that was there only to "coach" the team through their matches, I think that would lead to better misses and likely better golf. Once they get into the 3-man teams its everyone for themselves. They should also sweeten the purse somehow to get the teams to actually go for those wild bets Dave made.

Portnoy seriously needs his arse beat.
Why? Because he's messing around with the youtubers trying to create drama and entertainment for a youtube video?
You think that's a bad thing to do? Alrighty then...
The series was fun to watch. Still mad that Team Orange didn't win Day1. They had all the fun people.
The tournament was entertaining as hell to watch.

In all fairness to their roster JR Smith was supposed to be there in Lacy’s place and would have added another sub 5 GHIN player. But then again half the people there’s handicap is as truthful as a used car salesman.

I think branching outside of pure youtube golfers would be smart too.
Nadeshot is a good example of the type of person they should be trying to get play.

If Mo wasn’t explicitly cheating he at a minimum was unsure if his slope was on or not. Clearly he plays fast and lose with the rules because Bubbie was all over it and plays with him a lot, Garrett was also not defending him.
Paige blatantly cheating and then crying, Jesus that was a bad look.
Good guys won, Good Good better be careful, Brad might be able to piggie back this into his own channel and then they are stuck with cheater Mo in their main rotation.

Paige looks pretty bad...she played competitive golf and should know the rules. With her assets it won't damage the brand.
The Mo guy looks even worse. He has tits but they won't help him here.

Also my guess is they have rules officials next year...too much money on the line. The pot is probably also bigger.

Well the easiest way to handle that would be to provide them with range finders incapable of slope.
Even the older model range finders you have to switch the cap on it to adjust for slope and nonslope, and the slope one is bright orange.
It’s crazy to me that newer models are so easy to toggle between slope and nonslope now, i’m sure lots of tournaments have tons of cheating with that easier feature.
But a real rules official would be good for a paige situation. She knows what she was doing. I was a huge paige fan before (mostly cuz she’s hot) but she came off terrible. Absolutely manipulating those guys because she’s the hot blonde into getting the best team (even though she’s one of the best golfers there). And them trampling the rough and denying it, then saying it wasn’t against the rules, and then crying for sympathy… she came off looking horrible the last few episodes. anyone invested beyond her whoring looks is now gone. she tarnished her golfing reputation here. and you needed a real rules official because you could tell Dave wanted nothing to do with the rulings once the pretty girl started crying

He literally said in the video he wants real rules officials in the future

Frankie should've never had that wedge in his hand at the end
Couldn’t believe he chose to hit a pitch/chip shot there with what was on the line, his huge divot on his practice swing and his past history. Zero chance he could hit that shot. Putter all day there in that situation.

In retrospect, Paige's comment to Francis on the first hole "You've obviously never played competitive golf" is wild given 1) Dalke who obviously played competitively also didn't want to give the putt, and 2) Paige later improving Mo's lie and then playing victim and preying on the others' empathy.
The Invitational was well produced, well-viewed, and amazing content which should've helped the brand of everyone there. It crushed Paige's.

Honestly he shouldn’t have been there because Paige had a stock 150 yard shot and made a trash swing. She is clearly not as good as advertised, not remotely close. The only person who is likely better than advertised is Brad.

This while thing actually made me more of a portnoy fan, which i have not been. He's a goddamned degenerate gambler and he's got that classic yankee attitude, but he's also very straight up. Off-putting for us southern folks but i can appreciate it
