Your have to average pretty much 73.5 to be 0

Good to know. I’m probably averaging 77 at AGC. So that will be a good goal to shoot for.

You can bet your bottom dollar if I ever get fitted for a putter, I’ll be making a thread and a video about it.

Congrats MHD

Great results with still room to improve. Sounds like a great situation to be in.

USGA does this to keep guys from putting in a slew of bad scores just ahead of member guest or club championship.

I can't tell you how much I hate these sort of people. If you sandbag your handicap, just go frick yourself.

At the same time, most beginner golfers make the mistake of doing the opposite so they don't feel bad, then you get stuck with a B golfer in your 4some who can't break a legit 100.(if its not a novice golfer, its an old dude)

I currently weight 195. So we’re talking about putting on 15ish pounds.

My only contribution to this thread is to point out that you are bad at Math.

Based on your "confusion" about the handicaps, your inability to do 2nd grade math and being in CO, Im going to assume you've consumed too many edibles.

Or maybe your dumbass doesn’t understand daily weight fluctuations and estimated numbers(Hinse this “ish” after 15).

If “edibles” is a euphemism for you moms snatch, then yes I’m guilty of over consumption.

MHD, I recommend to enter all your scores into GHIN. Seems to me that the more scores that you enter the closest to reality your handicap will be.

I’d personally rather just record my competitive rounds. Rounds where I’m with friends aren’t usually played “by the book”. So for me, a more accurate assessment of where my game is is a compilation of my competitive rounds.

You can call me the anti sandbagger.

I was curious, so I just weighed in. Looks like I’m 193 lbs at 11% body fat. Standing 6’3.5(the OT wet dream).

215 may be too heavy. Might revise my goal to 205 max. Still wanna stay lean like DJ. Not fat like Bryson Daly.

There are clubs where they calculate your performance and they take strokes if you exceed a certain threshold twice.

When I shoot 94 or some bad round, the index just says- no change.
Play well a couple of times in a week, and the USGA updates the index like you are on the verge of going rely low all the time.

Your handicap is a measure of your potential. It's not a representation of what you usually shoot. It should be a fairly rare occasion that you actually shoot net under par. If it's not, your handicap will come down.
