Can't you say that about any hobby?

I find it quote entertaining and I suck complete arse at golf. Drink a beer a hole and have a good time. Yes, it can be expensive, but who really gives a shite. It's 3-4 hours of a shite show and get an Uber or a DD and you're good to go

Golf turns a lot of people into jerks. Public courses are the worst but even private courses bring out the worst in people. I live on a golf course and I have a 5 gallon bucket of balls from the yard to prove it. I like talking with guys who come to the property line and I’ll give them 3 or 4 balls from the bucket sometimes. But then you have the idiots who scream obscenities after they swing. I was mowing the yard once and a player who was 50 yards away was yelling at me to get my attention so I’d stop mowing while he hit. Just hit the ball, Tiger.

When did push carts become a thing? I never see the pull behind models any more.

Give it time. There is a reason most men on the course are over 50.

It's my time to chill, make some good shots, make some bad shots, play in a Friday league that helps me scratch my competition itch. I also really enjoy tournament play.

Golf is enjoyable, but I agree it has priced itself out of my life.

I love golf. I used to find going to the range after a long day very relaxing.

The older I’ve gotten, I rarely find the time to play 18. Also, I’ve got a bum knee, so, when I get to actually play 18, I’m typically unable to walk the full course. It speeds things up, but I miss that portion.

Golf is for guys whose wives will not let them hunt or fish.

I always looked at it as way to hang out with the boys every once in a while... But now that both my daughters have taken up the game I view it differently.. A while back before they started playing I almost gave it up b/c we played so infrequently that i was coming to the conclusion that it was a waste.. But of that change and now i play more golf in a month than I used to play in a year.. And I get to spent time with my daughters in the process... Not a waste any further.. time wise.... Money....weeeellll... I'll say it's taxing paying for 3 constantly

Golf was never meant to be for the poor. It’s a status symbol for leisure time for the elite of society.
If that statement pisses you off, then go become a member of the elite….people with disposable income and time to enjoy the little things of life.
Golf was meant to a be 4 hour leisurely stroll through beautiful surroundings. The cream of the crop are still like that. About 40-50 years ago, the middle class believed they should have a slice of that life. How many middle class courses have closed? It’s not for you. Go hunt and fish.

49 years old and it's one the last athletic challenges I have left to fill that competitive itch I've had since I've been old enough to remember. I can't play hockey like I used to. I can't run without severe knee pain or pulling a muscle. In fact, I just tweaked my calf on a run tonight, ice bag on it as I type.

I can still walk 18 and I enjoy the challenge. It's good exercise. I enjoy walking and listening to the ball game on the radio. I love golfing with my 8 year old daughter that has taken up the game now.

I don't see it as a waste of time or money. I used to fish and owned a boat. Golf is cheap in comparison.

This is the one trait all real golfers share. If you don't enjoy the challenge, you'll never keep playing.

I love playing. I enjoy the shite talking and small wagers while trying to beat your friends.

Now my son has started playing on the high school team, So, I spend more time practicing with him.
