What is the whole point of the shotgun start format? Is it just to be something different?

So you can watch the whole field in the time frame it takes to play one round instead of a 8 hour broadcast.

I don't mind a long day of watching golf on majors but for the run of the mil tournaments, they drag on too long. With the shotgun everyone finishes around the same time instead of having guys on the course and the leaders not teeing off until 4 hours later. In theory you can watch more golfers play in a shorter time frame.

I would imagine they figure the shotgun start is better for the team aspect as well since even though guys aren't in it for winning the tournament they are still playing for team winnings. So you're showing more guys that are effecting the overall/team winnings. Golfers probably like it better too.

I see the benefit but if you don't mind watching golf all day it really isn't an issue or if you only care about the final few groups it doesn't matter either.

I guess I get why people are picking sides but I don't see it that way. (insert whynotboth gif) I still watch both on two different tv's (if they're on at the same time). If I had a gripe at all about LIV it would probably be the music. I'd also imagine if I was there at the event I'd probably enjoy that part so who knows.

I will say it's watching both sides of yall going at it. It's just golf. Watch what you want. Or don't. But lighten up a little.

So, you're going to watch 6-8 guys that have the only chance of winning each tournament? Sounds like a blast. At least on the Korn Ferry there's a lot more guys competing. LIV is the Upward version of professional golf. What's the incentive to compete?

Yes, random dudes hitting shots with no narrative is not interesting

At some point they need to reevaluate the max size of LIV… lots of players will be forced out

These are world class golfers leaving. If the PGA doesn’t wake up they will turn into the Korn Ferry tour plus Rory.

I'll be happy to watch a korn ferry quality tour PGA.

Don't watch any of it anymore though. Lost interest. Not all because of the liv crap. Just got boring to watch.

Here’s what is actually going to happen. These tours will soon be owned by the people.

Guys will be able to play both tours in some way, whether that is individual vs. team or however I don’t know.

The guys leaving now like Rahm see the writing on the wall and are cashing in. Guys that stay will end up playing both tours anyway but without the huge cash payment

If it's boring to watch, why would you be happy to watch a Korn Ferry quality tour?

FlushingIt on twitter is currently melting down and roasting LIv. It’s strange. Something must have happened. He has been more positive on LIV than anyone
