I've got tee times for saturday and sunday mornings and am planning to walk. Highs for both days are around 98, how do you baws best manage an extreme heat on the golf course?

Not gonna lie, I enjoy the hell out of beers while playing golf, but in this kinda heat, I only drink water until about #17. I normally carry a big water jug with me.

Don't walk, ride.

But seriously: lots of water, two towels (I'll wet one at the turn if needed), park/stand in the shade where I can.

frick that in this heat. The only relief some times is the breeze while driving back and forth looking for a ball

Florida water

ETA: If walking aim for the shade, if riding, hit the middle of the fairway, hit the green in reg and putt as little as possible.

I sweat.

I drink water and sports drinks. I also drink lots of fluid the night before.

I walk in shade anytime I can.

I eat a payday or peanuts.

Sometimes, I just play 9 and come back late for another 9 after sun is below tree line.

start hydrating now...eat before, snack during...lather up with the SPF...drink plenty of fluids on the course (water and gatorade not alcohol ). Use a cold towel. Change shirts at the turn....

all of these are things I did not do a few weeks ago...puked on 13 tee..quit on 14 green. It was not a fun day on the golf course. Good luck...

Stay cool and hit'em straight

ETA
if you start feeling dizzy, nauseous etc...don't try to be tough...go in the clubhouse and cool down.

Well I would start by not walking

If it's in the 90s I am also only playing a course with a good amount of shade.

Hydrate before, during, and after.

I use a cooling towel that I will wet down repeatedly with the water coolers on the course.

I soak my hat with water which helps cool me down. I also try to play as early or as late as possible.

I had an 11 AM tee time last weekend and it was brutal

I use multiple gloves this time of year too. Usually wearing one, and two hanging on the roof rail drying out.

I can't play with wet slippery gloves.

These work well actually and are super cheap. Electric fan hooked up to a spritz bottle. Just spritz a few times and get a nice cool mist in your face.

Helps a lot.

Or just buy a regular old spritz bottle and spritz yourself while moving in the cart. Even easier and cheaper. Works just as well.

You underestimate how much you have to drink if you walk in this heat

I fell apart on the back 9 last weekend it was so fricking hot. I was a bit hungover too, which didn’t help. But his 95+ weather will really test your longevity.

I did, managed to walk 18 Friday afternoon and played 27 Saturday (only walked 9). I thought there was a decent breeze Saturday and it wasn't that bad. I chugged water from Friday morning to Saturday night though and stayed really hydrated. Also did the florida water towel that someone suggested and it worked well after the first 18 on Saturday while I was taking a break for lunch

ETA: bailed on the sunday tee time when I saw Tiger was going off at 8:30
