Sorry to vent, but man….. charging for range balls, then not having range balls available, then when the balls come out the have not been washed, overbooking the hell out of the day, allowing 5-somes, carts on path, no marshals working the course move slow players along, can’t even keep the grab-n-go dogs stocked at the turn…. Sorry. I love the lay out but a six hour round and waiting on every single shot is miserable.

This, la golf is bad compared to most states in the south

I won’t be back. Bunch of young kids running it with no direction and it’s way too packed. Food is good and beer is cold but just not worth a full day. Zero presence of a marshal after first hole. Course is tough so it doesn’t help pace of play.

Didn't know they started changing for range balls.

It is definitely my favorite course and the cart path only deal might be defensible with how wet it is but you are spot on with the rest. The marshals are laughably lazy and the restaurant has taken a nosedive in the last couple of months. No attention to detail in the entire golf experience (save the terrific superintendent). A shame

Slow play, not pushing people that lag behind and allowing 5 somes is almost enough to make me give up the game.

Yeah, the only time I will play it now is during the week if I have to drive back to St Tammany from the BR area.
It takes me the same time to get to the Gulf Coast and play things out in Bay St Louis and Pass Christian and they cost less.

We played it two days ago. We were a foursome. Paths only, range closed which sucked. Course was wet but in good condition. Greens were very nice and fast. The only thing I found odd was the singles playing. You'd think they would pair those guys up. We let a few play through but I just thought they could've managed that better. Took us 4.5hrs to complete the round.

The greens are pure for certain. Not sure what they’ll ever do about the marshals. I know they play ALL the time for free

I am a member at Greystone. My playing partners are members at CCL, U-Club, and Copper Mill. Every blue moon we visit another course for variety. Cart is off our list though

Get a 5 some and it won’t seem so slow

Tried charging me $30 for them a few months back

Louisiana golf sucks arse
Easily the worst state for golf.
It’s terrible.
It should be so much better.

They don't charge for range balls. They've always include it in the green fee. Now they have the vending machine, and if you want extra after the 25 you get, you pay $4. Quit lying.

Personally, I love Carters, great lay out, never had any bad food, everyone has been nice and friendly, course is always in primo shape. I expect to spend most of the day there, I guess that's why if it takes that long I'm not really concerned with it.

Honestly this has been my experience as well. More active marshalls would be welcome but that is every course.

100% agree with this. Over the years at least more recently it’s gotten worse. I’m not sure where the blame lies I.e. with marshals, or scheduled tee times all on top of one another. The last two times there for me it’s been a headache. Until I hear different I’ll stay away from there. It’s hard not to though because the greens there are always in great shape.
