This actually explains why the big names just seem to be going through the motions on that tour. Obviously they weren’t going to be as motivated but knowing that they would get nothing until the won about 30 tournaments pretty much kills any motivation…and also his dues it age t the guys who don’t hAve contracts? So if DJ wins, does the second place guy get first place money assuming he’s not under contract? I’d bet not.

We don't know if and for who that is true for. Could they just be advancing James Piott money, sure, but I doubt the big names are just getting advances.

Were all just guessing at this point

Thats a pretty stupid take.

On the PGA tour, you make money by being good enough, every week.

Has Phil broken par since he started playing their events? He wouldn’t have made a dime playing on tour playing like that nor should he.

Has it ever been said or confirmed if a LIV player could play a PGA event (if allowed) during a LIV event? I'm guessing the answer to that would be no?

Almost certainly not, but the player and LIV contractually agreed to that.

And PGA Tour players contractually agreed to not play in any tournaments outside of the PGA Tour without the PGA Tour's approval?

No, the details of their contracts have never been confirmed. It's safe to assume at least the 12 captains are obligated to play all 14 events next season.

LIV has been on record saying players should be able to choose where they want to play.

If Talor Gooch/Pat Perez/etc wanted to play in the WM Open, but there was also a LIV event scheduled that same weekend - would LIV tell them no? Maybe, maybe not. What we do know, is they are suspended by the PGA Tour - so who cares about this hypothetical scenario anyways.

Let's assume it is confirmed (it won't) that all 48 players are required to play in all 14 events next season, like Mingo said - it's not the same at all.

I believe that, outside of those 14 events, LIV doesn't care where they play on off weeks. Unless there are incentives to play in events like the international series on the Asian Tour (i.e. Patrick Reed).

funny, y'all are excited to see LIV contracts while most are waiting to see the PGA Tour finally open their books.

Yes. I want to see just how hypocritical these players are.

So LIV is a direct competitor to the PGA Tour. If they play 14 LIV events, and four majors (assuming they are allowed to play), then the PGA Tour would maybe get one or two other tournaments out of them. They basically self banned themselves from the PGA Tour already.

Pretty hypocritical for you to criticize LIV players for wanting more $, but not care what the PGA Tour does financially? It's impossible for some of you to take off your PGA glasses & have an open mind about this.

I can see why lsupride finally decided to bow out of these threads. we're going in circles with the same arguments.

you're going off of a hypothetical. LIV players, let's say all 48, are not required to play all 14 LIV events - that has not been confirmed.
What if Talor Gooch wants to play 9 LIV events, 4 Majors, & 7 PGA events. your "self-ban" argument is stupid
