Taking toooooo damn long to hit your shot. You take 15 practice swings or circle the green like a damn buzzard inspecting your putt from 17 angles.

Theres 2 results dude -
You hit it good
You hit it bad

All that BS time aint gonna change the outcome.....hit the ball ffs

I cant stand how I can rip a slight draw and split the fairway and walk up to my ball and feel the EXACT same feeling and swing and chili dip the shite out of the ball and it goes 10 yards.
just like I shot 72 Monday and never thought about a swing, it was just easy, and I’m good at this game. And then I get there today and my small bucket on the range to warm up was perfect. Not a bad shot in there, because I’m good at this game. And on the first tee (#5 as the course goes, playing in the dogfight so we just spread out) I rip one down the middle. 83 yards in. Chunk it. Let’s get up and down I say with a positive attitude. Blade the frick out of it over the green. Double bogey to start the round. Maybe I’m not so good at this game.

That Is what pisses me off

Well worth remembering that you never own the sport; you just rent it from time to time.

am a mid to high 80s shooter. I have been for a long time and don't play enough to really change that.

I would still tap in everything. It’s a mind set. If you know that a 18” can still be a testing putt, you’ll concentrate on the lag putt. Eventually, you’ll start making longer putts. That changes the rest of you game. You concentrate on hitting the approach or chip closer. You’ll concentrate on hitting the fairway. It changes your entire approach to the game, or at least that’s what it did to me.

I mean you could hit it good on the wrong line, or misread the wind and the result is bad. But I agree with you, too many practice swings and angles on the green sucks.

One thing that always pisses me off is a double bogey on the first hole. If I'm not playing a money game it's hard for me to shake it off and refocus. I feel like I'm out of the round after 1 and don't really have a chance to go low anymore

It's starting to be old fricks on the course. Not all of them... just the ones that think they own the place. Biggest deterrent from me playing certain courses.

being in Northwest florida, the soil is sandy and the perculation rates are high. hand watering greens is a way to keep them firm and fast and healthy without having to overwater the greens and water the whole green that doesn't need it. Yes, greens dry out at different rates in different areas. instead of griping, you should appriciate that the maintenace staff was doing what they can to make the course the best for you. If you don't understand why? Ask! as a superintendent, we have no porblem explaining why we do things the way we do. believe me, we don't do it to piss you off!

For me it is when it’s a crowded day and I am waiting for the group ahead of me to clear out before I tee off, and the group behind us rolls up on the tee box and I hear stuff like “he still hasn’t teed off yet” or “what is he waiting for?”

One time I heard “who does he think he is John Daly?” (This one made me chuckle actually)

I’ve been playing golf a long time. I know how far I can hit a ball. Shut the frick up.

The guy pulled a total dick move and I’d be pissed as well. But let’s not gloss over your total dick move.

Don’t come to my home course and start being an arse back on Facebook. This is a place he plays regularly. He could have dealt with it later privately. Now he’s got to deal with your fb bitching.

Who was gonna deal with it privately? He basically called me a liar (GM) saying that we were never waiting on him and that I never talked to anyone about this - which was another lie by the general manager.
So tell me wiseguy how would you handle this?
I did talk to the GM over the phone but he denied that we were ever waiting on him and that he can tee off on the back 9 with a fivesome if he chooses.
This is a public course that my friend has played not some exclusive golf club.
So wise guy tell me how would you handle this from a guy calling you a liar and that I was making all this up?

I recently moved up one tee box due to age and it’s made a big difference

I got stuck behind a 5-some of slow geezers at Stonebridge about a month ago. After about 3 holes of not letting me through, I skipped ahead (I was a single), one of them drove up me to me asked who the hell I thought I was. I told him to go f himself and kept playing.

Speaking of. I am currently sitting on #2 tee box as a single behind a 3 some who is literally teaching a guy how to play golf. They didn’t let me play through.

I really don’t want to skip a hole but if they aren’t letting me through I don’t have a choice I suppose. It’s completely clear in front of them. They’re about 150 from the tee box playing their second or third shots so I’m considering just driving over their heads and rolling on through

Not really though

Your post made it seem this was a country club. Not a public course.

You don’t do that at someone else’s country club.

But hey I’m not a chode.

Pisses me off when you are in a foursome and everyone has taken their shots and the last when it’s the last guys turn to shoot he starts taking his practice swings then. Should have been doing that while others were shooting. I’ve had to tell the same person multiple times “hit the ball, people are waiting on the box for you”

My best round is a 74 and I had a +2 on the first hole. Instead of being excited about the 74 I drove home thinking how good of a round I could’ve had if I would’nt have had that +2
