Okay? Not exactly comparable. I get you're saying it's not necessary, but it's something a place like UClub would have to do.

They have Adams tour events at the Bluffs. I assume they walk.
Not only do they walk, but most of them carry their own bags. Very few if any caddies out there. Some guys use the push carts though. I watched them when they were in Lafayette a few months back

LaTour is the only answer.

Howell Park deserves it.

Chances of US Open in Louisiana?
0%
It's due to the weather in the summer. The daily rain storms make it impractical to have a major tournament and risk a complete wash out. Florida never hosts majors due to the weather - look at how often the players championship has issues due to the daily rain storms, and that is in May.
Louisiana is just as bad as Florida with regard to rain come June. The months of preparation needed before the tournament itself would also be impacted by the daily showers. Augusta is able to do it every year because of their resources. The USGA does not have the same resources as Augusta, and won't with the decline in the popularity of the game.
On the off chance Louisiana were to host a major it would be the PGA.

People don't realize the elevation changes of augusta on TV. It's a hike.
150' from #1 tee to #12 green which I think if the lowest point.
I've waked the Bluffs and it's not terrible. But it's not a US open course. Would need much work.

And that's likely moving to May

I've been hoping for years that they would build a quality destination championship level golf course in Louisiana that accentuates all of the natural flora, fauna and land that Louisiana has to offer.
With all of the hills and highlands around Louisiana, there's certainly a great canvas to work with.

Just for 2020, right?

no chance with current courses or USGA dates.
Squire Creek would be the only answer......
....if it was located in metro NO area. Monroe, Ruston, Shreveport could not handle the infrastructure needs of that tournament.
It is my understanding that Squire Creek got rave reviews for the US Women's Mid Am - everything operated perfectly....but the US Open is a much bigger event.
I think squire could handle the grandstands, media center, tv towers, TV remote centers, etc. the problem would be getting thousands of spectators in and out of the facility.

It started as potentially just 2020, but now may move up permanently so that the FedEx Cup ends before NFL kickoff.

In between Masters and US open would be a better spot IMO. Bring many more southern courses into play.

if there were to ever be another US Open in the South, it would be at Dallas National.

They hosted at Chambers Bay. Which doesn't have a clubhouse. Just a small pro shop to check in.
I know a place just like that. 30 min away

I don't necessarily care if it in Louisiana or not, obviously it would be cool to have it here, but I just want one in driving distance. Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, California. I mean put one within an 8 hour drive of Louisiana. The US Open is one of my favorite event each year, even more so than the Masters. I just am afraid I won't ever get to see one in person without shelling out thousands of dollars.
FWIW, between Ruston, Shreveport, Monroe, and in a sense Alexandria, there are plenty of hotels within a two hour drive of Squire. That's not even including going north into Arkansas.

I just wish they had a southern course in the rotation too. Would love LA, but I'm not picky.

Atlanta athletic club hosted a PGA championship. I don't remember much about the course. Maybe open material. Certainly May would be better for bent greens in Atlanta.
