Not sure how much to trust them though cause I’m sure he is upset.

I would be surprised if Buddha was knowingly selling counterfeit or stolen clubs.

Yes, for the most part they do seem legit. But man, some of the stuff is beyond my comprehension. The swing weight etc.
“Based off 6iron
37.5 - 1/2 inch increments 3-9
1/4 inch increments from 9 thru wedges
•63*- 1/2* increments 3-pw
•1/2* flatter from Pw thru wedges
•Shafts- Dynamic Golf Tour Issue X7 .355 TT
•Grips Tour Velvet 360 Std 1+2 wraps
•Loft - manufacture specs
•Lie- 63*
•Swingweight D2.5 irons D3-D3.5 wedges”
Shafts are correct and so is lie angle. He mentioned some swing weight but we didn’t go into too much detail. Think my confidence in it is obviously shook and I’m not real sure how to trust these is all.

I agree. I don’t think that’s what’s going on. Nothing would surprise me these days but I’m almost positive he’s not doing that. Just my two cents

None of that looks off. Relatively standard or close to standard.

No way this could be true, but That would be some crazy shite. I know Tee it up always has a good bit of Mizuno demo clubs on display.

He probably has, or in this case had, a tour van connection that would sell (real) irons to him for pennies and they would both profit by "selling" them at retail prices. Its not like we call up the OEM verifying serial numbers.
I have a putter that I purchased straight off the van in 2006 in Tejas. Its not uncommon to do that but in his case to be flipping them as direct from manufacturer is shady.

Never mind. I have no idea what I’m talking about. Sorry.

I mean as upset as i am i feel like a reasonable person. I understand his job is to maximize his profits. I’m not even all that bothered by him using business connections he’s made over the years. Now, i think there’s some ethical stuff that probably isn’t cool when he’s doing that. By all involved. You are correct that the vans aren’t supposed to do that. If he is going to use connections he’s made then he is consuming the risk if the customer wants to make a change. He also shouldn’t tell people he can’t just order heads when he obviously can. If what you’re doing is forcing you to lie to your customers then you probably shouldn’t do that. Cause when you get caught it’s a really bad look. With all that said, you don’t tell a customer you can’t adjust an order after 48 business hours when you ordered them from somewhere you didn’t say you were. By all means, makes as much money as possible, but you can’t put the customers satisfaction at risk then refuse to pay the consequences when it all unravels on you. That’s my frustration.

Damn. I just made an appointment with Buddha for the end of March. I was honestly hoping to get it done way sooner than that. This has me thinking about canceling and just going to club champion as I’m really just interested in getting new clubs that I can start practicing with as soon as possible. Is club champion usually booked up anywhere near as far out as Buddha is ?

Heads up about CC, the fitting was great!
if you plan on purchasing from them expect to pay around $900 more than from Edwin watts. I bought my irons last year (mizuno 919 w/ nippon modus 105) and paid around $1200.....quote from CC was $2200. They charge everything a la carte even though the same shaft is a free upgrade from the manufacturer.

Figured eventually one of you would get burned and change your tune but didn't expect it to happen so soon. The biggest problem I have with him is when he first opened up shop he preached that manufacturers did not put the clubs together the same way he did, hand built by him for his customer vs the guy mass producing them in a factory. Then about a year ago he started pushing buying assembled from the manufacturer and he would "check them." I am for the game of golf growing and more people playing-i would hate for someone's greed to turn off people from the game. The thing I have told people about Club Champion is I believe they both do a similar fitting..but CC is not going anywhere, they have them all across the country and if Metairie location closed you could take your warranty would be honored at other locations or shipped to home office. Buddha is a one man shop that people who know him from the northeast dont speak too highly of.

If this is true you'd be better off finding a fitter in probably the Houston area if you are in BR or New Orleans than doing to CC. I just got some P770s with project x shafts from a fitter here in Dallas for just over $1,300, not much over retail. $2200 for those irons is insane.

I understand your sentiment, but no need to give this dude too much props for giving you the very thing you paid for.

You're going to have to explain. You've got enough clout here as a club ho, that I can't imagine you don't have some inside info.
