This is going to be kind of long but, I felt obligated to report what my experience was with Buddha. Most of you are regulars on here and if you look back I have recommended him in almost every post regarding him and his operation.

Everyone that I know who has gone to him says he is the best and these are people I truly respect as people and as golfers.

I got fitted at the end of January and I posted shortly after on this board with questions about spin rate and my recent experience there. Buddha was extremely knowledgeable and not pushy on anything. He recommended things and for the most part let me choose what I wanted by showing me the #s. He fit me for a type of club that honestly just didn’t sit well with my eye. I thought to myself to take the professionals guidance and maybe I’d get over the look (p790 or mizuno hmb, it’s just too clunky for me). Well, i gave my blessing on the mp20 hmb on a Friday at 530pm. The amount was for 1900.00 for the irons which were ordered from Mizuno, DG x7 shafts which don’t come in any standard iron and had to be purchased on the side. Buddha stated that i couldn’t just order iron heads and my irons would come 4-6 weeks with a stock shaft and he would build them from there.

Well, the appearance of the iron still bothered me as i reflected over the weekend. My wife dominates me and I’ve been begging for new irons for 5 years and i honestly just wanted to get exactly what i wanted. So, i called Buddha Tuesday (48 business hours later) evening and told him i wanted to adjust the order to the MBs. His response was “it’s too late, the irons have already shipped”. Yes, that’s odd considering it’s a 4-6 week lead time from mizuno. He went on a rant about how he was trying to help me so he ordered (HEADS ONLY) from a “Tour Van”. Yes, you can’t order just heads from mizuno per Buddha himself.

I said ok and hung up and reflected on the conversation. It honestly kept me up all night because something felt wrong and was wrong. So, I called him again the following morning to give him an opportunity to make things right. I explained to him that I’m spending 2k with him and just placed an order 48 business hours before i wanted to alter (yes, i take some blame due to my indecisiveness but if you keep reading I’m glad i did) and there’s no way the irons shipped out from mizuno that quickly. He mentioned the tour van again and said he got heads only. I mentioned he told me he couldn’t do that so that’s why i had to pay for stock shafts and irons along with my DG X7s. He then backtracked and said he never said that. I said to him that even if there was a restocking fee I’d be willing to pay it and i know that the irons i want are actually cheaper than the irons that were ordered and he could keep the difference. Then out came his true colors. He said and i quote “i could return them but it would hurt my relationship with the tour van and I’m just not willing to do that”. I was blown away by what he said and I almost lost it on him. But i knew it wouldn’t get me anywhere. This is the business owner that said he was ordering from the manufacturer itself. He then said if i wanted to get the irons i wanted I’d have to pay for the irons ordered along with $1,250.00 for the new irons. Yes, he said i needed to pay for both sets. I then went into offensive mode and said I’ll pay whatever but i want a tracking # for the iron heads he received. He did not produce this tracking # and wouldn’t after multiple requests.

I then called my credit card company to discuss actions that could be taken. He was lying and i knew it. I called my childhood friend who is the head pro at a club here in the Nola area and he stated that Mizuno would accept damn near any return. So i called Mizuno to speak with them with what was going on. I got ahold of the golf department and explained to them everything that i explained above. They were in disbelief and were furious. They stated that something was wrong and asked me for all of his info. They informed me that he hadn’t ordered any of the irons he said he ordered in a while from them. They also said that no tour van could sell anything to a fitter. But it was possibl something was going on. They asked for all of my info and asked my permission if they could include the Mizuno area rep in on what was transpiring. Which i told them i didn’t care who was called at this time. I was fuming mad.

About 15 minutes later Buddha starts blowing up my phone. Called me 3 times back to back after never responding to any of my requests for tracking etc. he then replies with a text messages which i will post below when i figure out how to do that on this site. “Call me ASAP”. “I’m refunding your money man! I’m sorry! You went behind my back and got my guy in trouble! You effed me bro”. “Receipt for refund is emailed to you. I’m sending your specs in a bit.”

I have my refund but he refuses to send me the specs. I felt obligated to warn people about this. He is not getting all of his products from the manufacturer and is doing underhand deals which puts his customers at risk to get screwed. Some of you may know him and I honestly don’t care. That dude is a piece of shiit. I am embarrassed that i ever recommended anyone to him. Sorry for the long post but i felt this should be known. Maybe i was an anomaly. Even if that’s the case his reaction and refusal to do the right thing is embarrassing and just speaks to his character. If you go to him be CAREFUL!!

So did you want the mizunos or not? I still can't tell what you actually wanted other than to order, then cancel, then order again then get a refund on your own? Did you end up paying him anything at all?

Pretty clear he wanted to change to a different model and your boy tried to frick him over because he and the Mizuno rep are getting the irons outside of protocol to make a little extra scratch.

It's one side of the story, but if it's true there's no way for you to skell for your boy

I paid for my fitting and after i spoke to mizuno i guess they called him. He just gave me my refund for the clubs but not the fitting. I’m really glad i didn’t pay with Venmo or PayPal like he urges people to do. The change i was making was from hmb to mb hmb combo.

That part I understand. But then he wanted them again? Because it sounded like he was willing to pay for the heads. I'm trying to get more info is all.

What’s at the bottom of this? Why was he so adamant about not returning the clubs?

Is he getting some deep discount from a tour van insider that he shouldn’t be and that’s why he couldn’t return them?

I agree there’s something weird going on for a fitter not to be able to accept returns or modifications to an order 48 hours later.

Did he mention any warning about your order being final or that you couldn’t return or edit your order?

Ell, i know you like him a lot and i did too. I’ll email you the screenshot of texts if you’d like. I honestly have no reason to slander the guy considering i have recommended him on every post regarding him.

No mention of that. Only that my order would take 4-6 weeks since it’s coming from the manufacturer. I don’t want to speculate or tarnish anyone else’s name but there is legit shady shite going down with him snd someone. The rep imo is the suspect cause when they said they were going to call the rep Buddha instantly called me 15 minutes later blowing up my phone. I just find that too much of a coincidence. The mizuno golf support rep manager is calling me later to get all of the details.

I understand. I’m honestly not even that mad that he had some under the table deals. That’s his problem if it he is doing that. The thing that bothered me the most as a customer is he put himself and his partner in crime before me and refused to make it right. Just garbage man. I didn’t even want a damn refund. I wanted the damn clubs i wanted.

All thoughts that came through my head. Nothing good comes from that besides me getting arrested and sued. But he deserves to have his arse kicked for sure.

total speculation but what if he's selling dh gate counterfeit heads at jacked up prices? something like that...or blemished heads

Man, i honestly don’t know and would hate to even speculate. Even though he probably deserves speculation at this point. But like Ell said, if true he is done and should be. My dad believes that’s what’s going on (2nd hand clubs) but it’s impossible to say.

I have no idea if that's anywhere close to what is happening but i sell a lot of shite on ebay and it's sort of always in the back of my mind that a good seller may sell some inauthentic items from time to time (knowingly or unknowingly)
