Depends on exactly what you’re doing. If you’re doing a complete and thorough reno, yeah you’re looking at 12-18 months for it to be 100% done. I guess you theoretically could reno in a shorter time frame if you pay enough, but the grass isn’t going to be ideal for a tournament. I’m not familiar with this course so I have no idea what would need to be done to it for it to be a quality track for a pro tournament

It’s usually in nice enough shape but it’s WIDE OPEN with zero penalty off the tee either direction and greens that are extremely flat

To me a pro quality reno would be added bunkers/trouble in spots off the tee as well as added sloping to all greens

They need to add fairway bunkers and let the rough get real thick. Only defense they can add in the time frame.

Dude it’s a muni course hosting an exhibition tour the week after the US Open. It’s not that big of a deal. They play at easy courses all the time, and I doubt anyone is looking to grind after the US Open.

Nobody is expecting US Open conditions and I’m pretty sure LIV, Bayou Oaks, and anyone else involved couldn’t care less about protecting 59.

If you go play now you can see where they’ve marked to grow the rough in. In some spots they are tightening them significantly. Gonna play a lot different for the amateurs after the tournament.

Complete goat pasture compared to the normal level of course these players are used to and expect. It’s hilarious really that they’ll be playing at Bayou Oaks

Yeh south course is far from a goat pasture. It’s just so damn boring

Yea, I’m aware.

There’s maybe 6-7 courses in the state that are on par with what top level tour players are used to with course conditions and layout and Bayou Oaks ain’t close to it.

The state is putting up a $5million dollar host fee as well.. so chalk that up to over 7 million for A tournament that will be not well attended.

State doesn’t put up squat for Zurich and the Zurich draws a much more significant economic impact and donates money back to Fore kids foundation

Rode by today. They have torn up all the driving range grass and have started another project to the right of the ball pro shop

Ticket sales have been better than Zurich so far which is why Zurich put theirs on sale earlier this year.
