Driving from south LA to north Arkansas to fish the White River. Any recs for some Ark courses in between that would be worth while breaking up the drive?

LINK

Haven't played Mystic Creek near El Dorado, AR but it's on my list LINK

Where are you going on white river ? If Mountain Home, then I recommend Big Creek.

Play Mystic Creek in ElDorado if you can. One of the hardest courses I’ve ever played so make sure you are ready.

If you go to Mystic, play the 3rd or 4th set of tees and dont expect a great score . . . Just enjoy the course.

Mountain Home is correct. Read about Mystic Creek and was looking into stopping in El Dorado on the way for this reason. This has about solidified my thoughts. Thanks for the recommendations.

Eat a smoked hamburger at Howell’s BBQ. Just off US Hwy 167 @ Hwy 82B. You can thank me later.

Without question the hardest course I’ve ever played. I’ve played it 3 times and there are just no bail outs. If you’re not 100% committed to every shot, it’ll chew you up. The conditions should be A+ right now. They just hosted the Sun Belt championships there a couple weeks ago.

If you are near Isabella. It’s one of the most beautiful (scenery wise) courses I have been on.

It's not even close. Mystic is one of the best golf courses I've ever played.

Im going to disagree here. We got told the same advice and it bit us in the arse. There are plenty of places where you can bang it through t the landing zone into the woods or water. Play your normal tees. Aim for the middle of the green and good luck. Your going to need it.

I’m going to agree with you here. I also played with you. Most tee shots are downhill so it doesn’t play as long as it says on the card. If we could have played it again the next day I could have backed up a tee box or two and improved my score by 10 strokes. It’s one of those courses where you have to know where the pins are and where to miss. Going in blind like we did made it a tough round. But it was perfect conditions and a fun fricking day

Big Creek in Mountain Home is not a bad Course. Look at courses South of Memphis, that's probably only if you are coming from SE Louisiana. Might want to take a day to go play golf in Branson you won't be that far. Paynes Valley, Top of Rock, Ozark National are some nice places. I live on a course in Jonesboro, AR., Sage Meadows, It's not the best, but its not a goat ranch. Fun course, and its bout 3 hrs short of White River if you are coming up 55.

Wouldn’t say it’s better than Squire, but no doubt it is amazing.

Just played Payne’s Valley, Ozark National, and Buffalo Ridge this week. Needs to be on everyone’s bucket list.
