Did your knickers get in a knot when Jack built a course in the Middle East? How about when Eldrick played in Dubai numerous times? Are you prepared for the internal angst when Roger Goodell has NFL teams square off in the Emirates?

I still upset about what happened to Absorbine Senior!

I feel about the same on pretty much all those guys as I did beforehand.
I thought Reed, Watson, Garcia, and Poulter were twats, and I still think that.
I liked Rahm a lot and still do. I respected Koepka a lot and still do. I liked Leishman and still do. I thought DJ was highly talented but underachieving and still do.
I always thought Phil was generationally talented but a greaseball. Still think that.
I’ve come around on Bryson more than I used to, but I still sense a fair amount of disingenuousness underneath the refurbish. There is no doubt that guy has game for miles, though.
I liked Cam Smith a lot but that guy has absolutely lost edge with the money infusion he got.
Etc. Etc.

The Saudi Public Investment Fund has been linked to some unfortunate incidents.
Just to be clear because I think this is important: the PIF itself hasn’t been linked to anything truly nefarious. Plenty of wacky, out there shite (like Neom and trying to replicate the EPL in Saudi Arabia), but it’s a sovereign wealth fund not much different than the Norwegian or Qatari or Emirati funds with deep and longstanding ties to Western businesses, diplomacy, etc.
Some of the people relatively close to some of the PIF leadership and / or involved in the Saudi government (the ultimate source of PIF funding) have done some not great things. MBS (ironically enough, the one who has cracked down on Islamists in the kingdom harder than anyone could’ve imagined) on one hand…and some jihadi-adjacent cousins and royal family on the other (who hate MBS).

Just happen to be flipping through the channels and LIV is on FS1 now, in the middle of the night.
They need to pull back on the graphics and the disco music.

you do realize the tour players play an annual event in Saudi Arabia and that the pga tour is currently working towards a partnership with them. Guess you will have to stop watching golf all together.
I haven't watched golf in a couple of years. Did catch the end of Rory at the Masters tho.

I get you. You're so right and come at it so simple minded on purpose. We should all be that way.
And when the PGA and PIF/LIV are you going to view all the PGA players as guys working for people with blood money too? Or will it now be acceptable when everyone is getting money from them?

Yep. Sure why not? Otherwise I would be a hypocrite.

I don't watch now. Nothing will change for me.
I'm getting back into playing, maybe I'll start watching a little more. Maybe. I usually catch highlights if it's an event I want to keep up with. Can't see myself sitting in front of the tv for 7 hours watching golf anymore.

I don't dislike anyone who went to LIV for more money, if someone doubled my salary tomorrow I'd be there.
I get that coming from a normal person, making a normal salary. Doubling 100k means something. Doubling 10M? It has AN effect, but not that much. The players who wen to LIV who were on the last years of a career or had no career at all on PGA, don't blame them. The Brysons, Rahms, Cams, etc. I was disappointed because they chose money over legacy. That's fine, but its not a decision I would make. I have turned down much higher paying jobs to stuff I thought was more interesting and/or would have a bigger impact.

If I want a friend, I’ll get a dog.
If LIV opens a net league, I’d do it IF they want to pay me enough.

If it’s all about money and impossible to turn down, how did:
Tiger
Rory
JT
Morikowa
Clark
Cantlay
Burns
Spieth
Fowler
Scottie
Etc
All turn it down? Truth is the heavy majority of the best players actually didn’t go….

Everyone has a price.
The PIF must not have met their price.
I watch some golf. Majors mostly and so far LIV has had some guys perform fairly well in the Majors.
In general, I don’t think it really matters if Brooks/Bryson/Cam Smith/Mickleson/Reed/Neimann And a few others show up and play at Hilton Head, Houston, or The Memorial.
Hopefully it will be resolved eventually.
I don’t care for the LIV format, but the players are highly skilled.

Only Bryson has really contended in the Majors from my perspective. Patrick Reed backdoored a top 3 with a hole-out from the fairway but wasn’t in contention. Rahm, Koepka, Smith, DJ, etc have been very disappointing. I believe Rahm and Koepka would be contending if they were still on tour.
From a golf and business perspective it’s been a huge disappointment.

I don't dislike the golfers...not comfortable with a gang that has more money than you can imagine showing how "anyone", and "anything", has a price...
no way can I fault the golfers for taking what amounts to generational money to secure the futures of their families...

Koepka has a major win since joining LIV.
Heard something at the Zurich about local PGA Tour tournament operators/charities are going to have to kick back some money each week to appease the investors

That’s a bit misleading. They’ve performed well in the Masters, for sure. Small fields, LIV has a lot of auto qualifiers (probably something to do with a green jacket raising the profile of a player more than other majors, and making them an attractive LIV target), good course fits, etc.
Outside of Bryson and some one off performances like Koepka at Oak Hill, they’ve done pretty damn poorly at the other majors all things considered.
