Golf is a funny game. I made an 8 on a par 3 (#13 at Copper Mill) with 2 chunked shots into water and a bunker shot that barely made it out. 3 holes later, I missed an ace on the driveable par 4 16th by inches.

Rangefinder said 250, with hurting right to left wind. Didn’t think I could carry the water and bunker with my 4 wood, so I hit driver at an accessible pin location on the front left. One of the guys I was paired with hit his ball on the green to 15 feet. My ball ended up here:

And yes, I made the eagle putt.

Great shot.

Eagles are rare for me.
One in 2022.

Congratulations.

I had the same experience 2 years ago. My Eagle putt was a little longer (10 foot)…( yes, I made it)

Congratulations.

I have hit the 2nd shot into the hole 3 times.

Eagles on par 4's are fun.

No poa. They weren’t fast, but rolled fine.

Also drove the 7th green, but pin was back left and I had no putt at the hole. Tried chipping from the green over the fringe. I did not get close. Made an easy par, but it was a disappointing “3 putt.”

One of my three eagles was on 7. Firm and fast, downwind, front pin. Rolled up to 3 ft. Never been so nervous over a (otherwise completely inconsequential) putt.

Awesome. That course gives up some low scores. As long as you can stay around par on the 6 par 3s you can 3 or 4 under easily.

What is the course rating and slope of Copper Mill from the tees you played?

You have 3 eagles on par 4s and none on par 5s? How is that possible.

My lone eagle this year came from 1 at steel canyon from about 120 out or so. Hit a bad drive, then topped the ball but it just kept rolling.

I really just think it’s way easier to make eagles on par 5s, so I was curious, especially considering he has 3 of them. Not a one off situation.
