I'm going with a different angle this year,

- Play at least once a week.
- Play at least 20 different courses
- Play in 5+ different states
- Walk more than I ride
- Play in at least 3 serious four ball tournaments

This is a great goal for me too. It's also the least likely to be accomplished by far...

My ghin says I’ve played 157 rounds this year.

I’m sure that doesn’t even count the scramble rounds you may have played in for tournaments, or other tournament rounds of alternate shot type formats.

I’ve never been a member at a club. We just joined one recently and I’m anxious to see how much I can improve. Hitting range balls won’t be different for me because I’ve been able to hit shag balls in an open field before, but I’m excited to be able to go work on different short game aspects around the course in the evenings. If I’ve got an hour or so of daylight left, I can ride from hole to hole just working chip shots and bunker play.

Keeping it simple.

Play once a week...that has never seemed to work out for me
Walk more
Break 80 more often
Practice at home more, have enough land to hit full shots with all clubs using restricted flight balls so no reason not to other than being lazy.

I had one goal for 2020 and that was to break 80. I did so with a 78 not too long ago. I'm always in the low 80's, but breaking 80 was always one or two stupid decisions out of reach.

For 2021, since I broke 80, the goal is shoot a 75 or better.

Hit the range more than the course.
Get in a routine, I just walk up and hit the ball, no practice swing.
Play smarter, stop hero shots that I can't pull off.
Score more in the 80's than in the 100's or high 90's.
Enjoy and play more often.

Same goal as 2020. To break 80 for the first time.

This year I posted an 80, two 81’s, and a couple of 82’s. Couldn’t manage to get those few more strokes off. Dropped my hc to all time low of 10.

Now that I know it’s within reach, it’s a more realistic goal. Need to get more accurate off the tee and much better wedge play from about 80 yards and in. Everything else I’m good enough to get around.

My goal is to finish my swing transition and get it into habit. I am stuck in the middle which just means more work to trust it.

Walk more than I ride is a great one. I bought a push cart to help with it a month back on black friday and finally tried it out yesterday. I was worn out at the end of the round even with it as I wasn't playing with anyone and seemed to be running around the course.

At least practice once a week. I am about 20-30 minutes from Highland Oaks (the RTJ course in Dothan) and they have a good range and par 3 course. I can get a range plan fro 500 and play the par 3 as much as I want and as many range balls as I want.

That par 3 course rocks.

It is not a pitch and putt.
Several sets of tees so you can play most holes from 100 to 200 yards and a couple might be longer from the very back.
It was never crowded after work in the 1990s, but I have not been there in years.

Make first Eagle
Break 90 >3 times
Buy a new putter
Play a round with 1-3 balls

April is my 1 year golf anniversary. Made a lot of strides in year 1 but still have a lot to clean up. The brilliant shots are there, but so are the fat ones, thin ones, duffed ones, sliced ones, and hooked ones. If I could even eliminate the duffed chip shots, which is the easiest to eliminate, I would clean up a lot of scorecards. That comes down to 100% focus on every shot or the lack thereof.

My most important goal though is to play more golf with the boys. I'm not married and don't have kids. I need to get it in while I can

That is so golf.

Enjoy the game. You will get better(slowly), but just celebrate each good shot.

I want to get better, but I’ve got a medical procedure coming up so who knows what 2021 has in store.

* Swing work to straighten out my damn driver. Rounds when I'm keeping my driver in the fairway, which are rare, I score pretty well. I inevitably hurt my score by coming across the ball and watch the ball impressively cut hard right. When I club down on the tee box, I instinctively lose my form feeling I need to overhit to compensate for the shorter club.

* Break 80. I've gotten down to 84.

* Find a strategy that has me ready to play golf on the first tee box, via stretching, morning routine, and making sure I arrive at the course early enough to hit a few range balls. I'm not a morning person, at all. Early morning rounds in the summer have me sleepwalking through the first 9 which inevitably hurts my overall score.

* Instead of pouting, I need to do a better job of taking an awful round and looking at it as practice instead of just compounding stupid decisions and poor swings trying to play catch up.

* Join a club so I can establish an handicap.

You can get a ghin handicap without joining a club, but don't let that info stop you from joining somewhere.

Play more than once a quarter.

2020 was not a good golf year. I did buy a push cart and really enjoyed using it the two times I did. I loved walking when I was younger and I find I stay a lot looser walking than riding, especially if pace is slow.

Take lessons and get this thing figured out correctly. Try and get at least 6 lessons in this year, hopefully more. I’m tired of looking at YouTube and trying to figure this thing out on my own.

Get fit for the entire bag from driver through putter.

Implement lessons and get handicap to single digits.

To become a bogey golfer
To play more consistent
