All,
As we approach the tournament date, I can tell that everyone is getting excited. So, let's discuss a few things to make sure this event is a success.
Firstly, we are asking LaTour to host our tournament, and they have been kind enough to accommodate us. However, very few people have called the pro shop to reserve their spot or pay the green/cart fee. Although it isn't "required", let's show them that we are acting in good faith.
Please call the pro shop. Tell them you are part of the TD group. They'll take care of the rest.
Secondly, did I mention LaTour is excited to host our tournament?! They are very excited. In preparation to host us, they have negotiated group rates for some local hotels to accommodate our out of town friends traveling to the tourney.
Raceland Holiday Inn - Double = $90 - King = $86
Hampton Inn = $104
Please let me or the LaTour people know if you plan on booking a room. We can block off 5 or more rooms at each to make sure some are available!
Lastly, we are still considering what to do on Saturday afternoon/night. We may play a friendly pre-tournament round, drink some beers, have dinner, etc.
None of the Saturday night fun has been firmed up, but I expect as we get closer to next weekend, some plans will have materialized.
Anyway, I know some of you can't make it this year, and you'll be missed. But the ones that will attend, bring your A-game. It's going to be a blast!

How many are gonna play Saturday?

Having some late withdrawals. Down to 50.
Still plenty to do shotgun start and fill out some balanced teams.

Did I miss how the team selections will go? I know we have some legit good golfers playing so how are you going to prevent teams from getting stacked?

Captains pick should evenly allocate the talent.
The best golfers are captains.
They draft from the remaining pool of players.

I had no idea this was needed but I can certainly call ahead and pay in advance.
I guess this is a little different that most tournaments I play in.
I'm thinking I will probably just drive over Sunday morning. If I head over Saturday it would be later and I would probably miss the afternoon golf anyways. I will see what all my kids have going on that Saturday and if I can bug out early I will try.

Yeah. It didn’t occur to me either.
But most of the charity events I play in get payment way up front. People are less likely to drop out that way.
There is some financial exposure to LaTour. So, I didn’t think it was an unreasonable ask.

Can’t post it but it’s on their facebook page.
