Since we are posting stuff from Reddit I figured I would share this to stop the misinformation that you can't share games with friends.

I'm just curious, what does "PSN still sucking huge arse" mean? I'm being serious, I really don't know.

The point being, if you bothered to read the context, was the the problems of the current system should not be used as a pros/cons list for the next gen consoles.

The PSN outage, which was the specific example was given ("sarcastically" as I found out later ) was a reason the PS4 will have a shitty internet service. Which also has nothing to do with the current quality of the service today.

That's when I responded with, if we are making a pros/cons list of the next gen consoles based on the failures of the previous consoles, then RROD should be on that list.

My point being that neither should be on the pros/cons list for the next gen systems.

Is that easier to understand?

ETA:

If anything those problems that each console had will help strengthen that respective area of the new consoles.

Taylor please tell me of the improvements made to the PSN throughout the PS3 life span. There was little to nothing done to it nor the XMB interface. Microsoft changed their dashboard pretty immensely and often during the 360 life style. Lets also add in how bad PSN was for PS2 and how much live was for the original Xbox. If you look at history things will be no different this go around.

Numerous firmware updates to improve speed and add features + apps.

The introduction of PS+ was also very big. Giving games along with online subscription is a pretty big move and I hope MS does it as well.

PSN didn't exist for PS2. There was online gaming, but no dedicated network or system across all games.

There's plenty that PSN needs to improve on, but don't exaggerate its 'shortcomings'.

The name is irrelevant. What PS offered for PS2 was terrible compared to what xbox offered. The same goes with what the 360 offered compared to the PS3. Xbox live changed drastically overtime also for the better. I can't say the same for what PSN offers.

You do realize the xbox came out a year and a half after the PS2 right...

The PSN store is 1000x better than the Xbox Live marketplace. Just my opinion.
