I’d hardly say saving $20 bucks over 2 years is ripping in to their business lol.

Who hired you from MS to infiltrate this board?

You don't think saving $20 over 2 years is better than paying more over 2 years? And, based on the link provided, substantially more.

I knew you were stupid, but does this really need to be explained to you?

ETA: Seriously, how dumb do you have to be to think financing something and not paying a premium doesn't hurt a business based on financing AND paying a premium? Have you ever purchased anything on credit?

Xbox All Access

Seems like they're preparing for future consoles that'll be more expensive.. basically a high end gaming PC.

Possibly taking a loss on the series X to get people into the Xbox ecosystem and prep them for making payments on future consoles.

That is absolutely what they're doing. It's smart on their part, but I'm totally cool with it because I was buying the system anyway.

ETA: Honestly, unless they're planning on releasing a new system every two years, I'm not sure I see the downside even from that perspective. I'm betting it won't be cheaper to finance future systems though.

If you already are subscribed to EA Play and have Xbox Game Pass Ultimate when they combine, it will convert at the rate of 3:1 when it switches over, rounded up. So for every 3 months of EA Play, you'll get one month of Game Pass. This is because one month of EA Play is 4.99 and 1 month of Xbox Game Pass is 14.99.

Now, if we do the math here, a year of EA Play is currently being sold for $30. This means you could rack up 4 months of Game Pass for half the current price of 4 months of Game Pass if you were to purchase EA Play right before this goes live. My understanding is you can only pre-purchase 24 months of EA Play so you could only get 8 months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate this way.

Major Nelson announced the conversion rate on his Twitter: LINK

ETA: I also just confirmed that the 24 months with All Access comes in the form of a membership you can redeem. They're saying to wait until you are below 12 months before redeeming it, because the max is 36 months. I think I'm going to max out on the EA Play membership for that extra 8 months, and then add on the 24 months once I'm down to 12.

LINK

If you’re already an Ultimate member, wait until your existing membership has a prepaid balance that is less than 12 months before redeeming the 24-month Ultimate membership through Xbox All Access. You’ll be unable to redeem with more than 12 prepaid months of Ultimate.

I love GamePass on PC. Adding Origins is a bonus.

Steam needs to do some type of sub service.

I am maxed out on the $1 Game Pass, so I can use this to extend it is what you are saying. My gamepass expires sometimes in 2022. I have EA, but I think that renews this February.

Yes. If you buy a year of EA Play for $30, it will convert to 4 months of Game Pass Ultimate. That is half the cost to buy 4 months of Ultimate directly from Xbox. You can only get a max of 2 years of EA Play, so theoretically you could get 8 months of Game Pass for $60 by purchasing 2 years of EA Play. I don't know if this will work if this would put you over 3 years of Game Pass as they say you can only have a max of 3 years prepaid.

When they combine your EA Play subscription is supposed to stop auto-renewing. I don't subscribe to it though so I didn't really read that part very closely. You may want to be sure they don't keep your auto-renewal active.

Still is imo. I saw nothing today that would sway me to PlayStation. I'm honestly not sure what y'all are seeing that I'm not.

frick Playstation. They just put their customers through the ringer with their Preorders. Saying they wouldn't drop at a moments notice. Good luck finding one on release day.

I like a lot of what Xbox is doing with the Series X. Gamepass and backwards compatibility are huge. It's just that they have 0 exclusive games.

You got a comparison chart for the two that cost $499?

I haven't kept up with the next gen stuff, but if the PlayStation digital console has the exact same features as the one with a disc drive what does the Xbox one with a disc drive have?

I said those are the two bargain systems, and people who are wanting to buy those systems don't care about any of that stuff. I'm right.

You also don't seem to understand that the Series S doesn't need the processing power of the other systems because it only plays at 1080p. Most people won't care about that at all.

ETA: This isn't nearly the win you think it is.

This is a popular meme, but I'm pretty happy with the XBox console exclusives. I really think this idea is totally overblown.

ETA: The Game Pass thing is really overlooked too. This past year I've played GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption, I'm currently playing through all the Kingdom Hearts games, Gears 5, Battlefield 1, Plague Tale, State of Decay, Outer Worlds, Life is Strange 2, multiple Jackbox Party Packs for parties at my house, and definitely others but I've played so many games on Game Pass that I can't remember, without paying anything extra whatsoever. Every XBox Games Studios game is on there at launch.

With XBox All Access, I get to continue that trend for another 2-3 years at least. Game Pass is directly affecting my pocketbook in a positive way. It is the best gaming service I've ever seen.

Adding EA Access to it is just going to make it even better.
