Had to be included. No telling how must time I wasted and how many quizzes I failed in high school because of that game.

I'm primarily a PC player back to pre-Mac and PC days (Commodore 64 and Amiga).

Sim City

Master of Orion II

Civilization (Civ II remains a beast - probably the greatest PC game of all time)

Rome Total War

The Sims (1 - 4)

Those 5 franchises are easily 90% of my gaming time over a career of 35 years.

Completely slipped my mind. I've played that series far more than any other.

The furthest I ever got as far as generations go was in sims 2. I got to my original sims x9 great grandchildren

Games that truly blew my mind the first time I played them

Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger - 2 of the first games I ever played where I truly cared about the characters and their fates, they felt like friends and I was sad when it was over

Half-life - half life 2 is a better game as a whole but the impact that half-life had on me and the industry as a whole is immeasurable

Everquest - the only time I can say I was truly immersed in a game and forgot it was just a game

Metal gear solid - amazing storytelling like I had never seen in a game before, it got to the point where i just wanted more story sequences and would rush through the gameplay

Silent hill 2 - the true pinnacle of horror gaming to me, unbelievable suspense and atmosphere, my first real experience of being unable to continue playing a game for long periods of time because of real fear

Ocarina of Time - in my opinion the most beautifully put together game of all time, a true work of art, seeing link as an adult for the first time still gives me chills

Pokemon red and blue - this was the first real gaming related craze I remember experiencing as a child, at least 3 years of my life I was consumed by Pokemon and all my friends were too, just blew my fricking mind that an experience like that was available on gameboy, 150 Pokemon to catch available in a game on the fricking gameboy

Let me throw a modern game in here - path of exile - finally a company built a true spiritual successor to Diablo 2, which spawned my favorite genre of games this millennium, the games in the ARPG genre have been few and far between but this one has given me so much enjoyment in this era of pay to win microtransaction horseshite, recommend everyone that was disappointed by d3 give it a try

I haven't played many games so I don't have much to choose from. But what I did play I played a TON. I'd have to go...

Diablo 2
Final Fantasy 10
Skyrim
LotR: Two Towers

Completely forgot about this game. It was on the PC when I was so young. Looking up the pictures brought it back to my brains.
