But Klark! Massive games like this should be error free!!! It's like they wanted the game to launch this way and they want to tarnish their reputation! Why can't the world just revolve around me and what I want!!!!

I'm having a hard time adjusting from game to game. The swat MP list can go from halo 2 to halo 4 between maps. Thats a big adjustment. Especially when I'm expecting a bumper to melee and it reloads my weapon instead. I think i finally have all game controls set the way i need them.

Had fun in the customs with some of you yesterday. I'l be off work this evening/tonight if you guys are down to play some tonight.

It's not as easy as you think it is to plan for launches. It isn't a "let's just throw an extra 250 servers at it, just in case" simple solution. There's a lot more to it that I honestly don't think you have the intelligence to understand even if I explained it thoroughly and slowly with pictures.

I was already of the same opinion, but you got me on your side with this one. It's absurd how many people think "Oh, they just wanted to be cheap about it and skim on server resources." That's such an absurd mindset that it's insane. For a good idea of limitations faced, watch the World of Warcraft documentary they've just released. They mention how physics is always going to limit them, and concurrency schemes can only go so far. At the end of the day, launch is just too much to handle at this point. ESO developed their MegaServer architecture with a single world simply to solve this problem with instancing and intelligent resource management, and they STILL faced a ridiculous amount of issues at launch. It's unavoidable in some cases.

Have you heard Google is working on a computer that can write it's own code? I was thinking about it yesterday and came to the realization that that is the only way we're going to be able to move forward. Software has gotten too big for humans to efficiently get bug free. Coding Computers are the future.

I disagree with this sentiment. The issue with depending on this computer generated code is that it'll always be limited to the scope and talent of the team. Yeah, Google has tons of talent, but they can't solve the problems and limitations we face in artificial intelligence and learning theory. In my opinion, being able to grab a solution out of left field when you're facing a tricky situation. Without the concept of learning and adaptation, they'd only be useful for simple code generation and testing, but they won't be replacing the software engineer anytime soon.

Not saying that I think the problems now won't get better soon, but this isn't much different that the BF4 release so far from what I remember at least from an MP standpoint.

BTW, I play Halo in general on heroic unless I'm feeling froggy and I up it to legendary.
