The FFVII remake has me thinking...should Ocarina of Time get the same treatment?

I’d say both are no doubt Top 5 best games to ever exist. Final Fantasy’s remake is allowing it to elaborate on several things that the hardware limitations just wouldn’t allow back in the day and possibly add some things in the developers originally had planned to begin with.

Despite what people may think about Ocarina of Time, the game was pretty cut and dry and some parts were real head scratchers if you paid attention. There were also other themes like the whole sheik situation and time skip I feel could be added in that would be positively amazing.

You know Nintendo would never fricking do it in a million years but there are plenty of things that are flat out unexplained or missing in the game that a solid remake (not remaster like the 3DS) would be fantastic for.

Can’t wait to pick up FF in 2020 tho!

If done right, it would be awesome.

Before any of them show up, I'm going to say no to the Majora's Mask fans that say it deserves a remake over Ocarina of Time

I don’t think it needs it. It aged much better than VII

OoT is still a great playthrough today and you've already got the gamecube version. I think that's one title that Nintendo leaves alone. It COULD be awesome if they were ridiculously loyal to the original and managed to transfer the magic over to an updated version, but it doesn't always work out that way. It's really not worth the risk.

They're redoing Link's Awakening for the original GB, so I wouldn't say it's impossible.

Zelda games don't need remakes. The best remakes are ones that update the gameplay and reimagine some elements while remaining true to the original game.

That's basically what every Zelda game is already anyway. Each one could practically be considered a remake of the one before it.

I don't think so. The rando is played a lot today. I think Nintendo should focus on a completely new Zelda game. Which they are.

The FFVII game is getting a complete overhaul. If they were to do Ocarina of time then they would just do an upgraded graphics one which I'm sure they will down the road. I'll be first in line. If they changed the gameplay completely then I would be pretty disappointed. It's perfect.

It’s been many, many moons, but I still have a distinct memory of wanting to murder someone during a platforming segment in which you couldn’t see your feet...

OOT has aged much better. Doesn't need it. Just play the GC or 3DS version on PC.

I hope they someday do. Its my favorite storyline in the Zelda series. OoT in modern graphics and a world the size of BotW would be great.
