Picked up this game for like $3 on Steam and I have no idea how I missed this one when it came out.
I just started the game and the powers make you feel like a complete badass until some captain swoops down to grind me into fricking mulch.
I have to reorganize and rethink my tactics, all while he gets more powerful. It's a brilliant game mechanic.
I don't know how many times I've yelled out "holy fricking shite!" at some of the kill animations. It's a hell of an experience and refreshing to see Middle Earth through brand new eyes.
Gonna go pour another drink!
Happy Fourth of July, GB!

I picked it up late too. Since, I've played it all the way through 3 times.
Nothing like casually strolling into a camp and murdering anything moving.

Picked up GOTY edition for 4 bucks on PSN

Underrated game imo. The story seemed to be lacking was my only real complaint
The sequel appears to be epically better

Picked this up when it was on sale for $4 on Steam. Always had my eye on it but was always busy with something else. Can't wait to hop into this bad boy.

Great game, the final boss was pretty meh. That was my only complaint

Overall the boss fights were nothing special to downright weak. Didn't detract much from the fun of slaughtering a zillion orcs.

I can't wait til October for Shadow of War.

The biggest negative for me was how late in the game they give you the ability to take control of the orc commanders and play that portion of the game. Needed to be a lot earlier in the story. Fun game though.

I, too, picked up this game recently. I really wanted to enjoy it because I'd heard so many good things, but it left me kind of cold. Something about it just didn't click for me.
Glad you're enjoying it, though.

Really enjoyed it at launch. I've already beaten it but bought the GOTY edition to play the DLC. Has anyone played that extra content?

Actually, the game is pretty easy once you learn the game mechanics.
My additional playthroughs went much faster than the first
because I learned all the buttons to mash and when.
As long as you dodge and jump all over the place, you can pretty much kill almost anything before getting all the upgrades.
Only real problem are those bastards with their crossbows.

Completely forgot about those guys. The game is really fun though. Looking forward to the new one in October.

The game of the year edition of this game is going to be free on Xbox One and Steam this weekend. Can't find a link. WB Games emailed me an advertisement for Shadow of War with that news as the main draw.

Thanks for the inspiration I needed to start back playing this game. It's just good ol' fashioned hack and slash fun.

With all the sales talk going on in this board....this is without a doubt the best deal. Might as well download it and put it on the back burner till I finish Ratchet and Clank.
