Good luck on your 4000 hours of BF2. I know I could never enjoy that game that much.

Yep. For having some of the most limited range and low damage attacks, having also the least amount of health (or close to it) is just an insult. I mean, he is the damn emperor after all. Plus that stamina depletes so quick, you can barely even use his main attack. He needs to get a big buff. Getting three shot by Lando or Solo is just stupid.

He should have a lightsaber. All Jedi/Sith should have one. They should all be able to block blasters with it. That is the RT & LT abilities. Then, use the bumpers for their force abilities.

The micro transactions will come back after Christmas. They will wait for a ton of people to get the game under the tree and implement it again. People will pay to catch up. Genius, really.

Absolutely, there is another reason for this as well.

Everyone that was willing to pay for those micro transactions on release, already has.

Through EA Access everyone willing to throw out money for the game, has already been playing, and already had the ability to buy crystals. Game only releases today for people that weren't willing to spend more money on the special edition or the 10 Day Trial.

There are limited items to acquire, it doesn't take a lot of money/time so the people have a set amount they will spend, and likely already have met 80% of those sales they would have gotten initially.

That's genius on their part.

They designed a game that's basically impossible to play without in game purchases or 4000 hours and then turned off in game purchase without fixing the progression problem.

When they finally turn micro transactions back on they'll make a billion dollars

Interesting if this ends up being 100% true

Here’s some news. Only reason @EA took out the micro transactions from Battlefront 2, was because Disney threatened to take away the exclusivity rights to the franchise.

Good. If true, that should keep them from trying to bilk players out of money later on by bringing it back.

I'm enjoying the hell out of the game so far, so I hope they don't ruin it in the future.

ETA: EA picked the wrong one to try this stuff on. Star Wars fans are nothing to play around with.

I know Belgium is doing an investigation into loot boxes, as a form of gambling. Since they can be purchased for a game of chance.

I expect more EU nations to jump in.

I am enjoying the campaign, but can Dice actually design a single player campaign that isn't a tutorial for MP?

That is exactly what this feels like.

IDK man.. Disney is taking the fun out of being a SW fan. I can't go anywhere without being flooded with SW stuff. It makes me less engaged with the SW universe.

This is exactly what it feels like playing all of these different heroes rather than focusing on Iden, not a huge fan of this campaign so far.

IGN review for BF2 is out. They gave it a 6.5/10 because of the insanely short campaign(less than 4 hours) and the tedious loot crate progression system. This has to be one of the biggest fails I've seen in gaming in awhile.

What idiot thought this would work? Think about it, it takes you about 12 matches to get one loot crate, which is over 2 hours of game-play for RANDOM REWARDS! After are all that time, you're not even guaranteed to get what you were grinding for! It's awful. Taking the crystal currency out of the game is cool and all, but it doesn't fix the ridiculous amount of in game currency you need for one fricking loot crate that doesn't even guarantee what you want. It's a punishing grind to your player base and people will get sick and tired of a grind like that.

Thank god I didn't buy this game, but it just blows my mind how a big company like EA and a development studio like DICE can be this retarded.

The idiots at EA sports. They apparently learned nothing from the first one.

It sucks because the core game is very good. I remember a time when competitive multiplayer shooters didn't even have progression systems. Players still logged thousands of hours just because the game was fun. This is the world we live in now though.

While I appreciate the press knocking the game for its greedy microtransaction-based progression system, I hope the negative reviews don't scare people away.

The campaign is about what you would expect from Dice. It's not worth purchasing the game for, but any Star Wars fan should get some enjoyment out of the set pieces.

I have no idea why they can't just copy Battlefront 1's progression system. Lock guns/star cards behind player level and let you purchase specific items with credits. All heroes should be unlocked from the start.

I broke down and bought the deluxe version. This game is SUPER fun.

Officer is my favorite class by far. Unlocked the S-5 pistol with the reduced recoil. It is amazing. Like a mini sniper.

However, it was outclassed big time when I unlocked the improved burst for the Blurrg. That might be the best gun on the game. 4 shot burst with great accuracy.

Officer has self HP buff, great weapons, the flashbang and the disruptor that is a great o-shite button. I think it might be the strongest class overall.
